Canvas Credit Union University Branch Reviews
R
R Jones5I visited this Canvas branch, as a shared branch with mycredit union. Despite not being a Canvas customer, I was very impressed with the attitude and service. They helped me with a cashier's check for an escrow closing and were patient and "can do" oriented. I might be a new Canvas customer because of this experience.

Tom Klein1My wife and I got a mortgage through Canvas about 9 months ago and lucky us we have instant equity. We decided to pursue a HELOC with Canvas since it seemed like the best way to pay down debt. And since Canvas already had our appraisal and mortgage in house, we thought it would be a smooth transaction. Wow were we wrong. We began this process OVER A MONTH AGO. All signs indicate that we are approved, but they are going through documents and whenever we call they say they just haven't gotten to us yet. As recent transplants to Denver, we've valued our relationship with our credit union in Wisconsin for over a decade and were eager to start a relationship with Canvas here as we lay down roots. Our credit union in Wisconsin (Summit) might have set the bar high as we would never in a million years imagine waiting more than a few days for an application decision, or more than a week for funds to be available. But more than a month? Seriously? And the worst part is we've bothered our mortgage broker who then reaches out to someone and is shocked when we STILL haven't received a call back days later. I can say with certainty - there is absolutely no chance we will be moving the rest of our accounts to Canvas after this incredibly horrendous customer service experience. If anyone has any tips on other credit unions we should consider, please send them our way!

Jane Sagalovich2Do you like to be charged a fee for every little thing? If so, this is the Credit Union for you. If not, look elsewhere. In addition to the more 'familiar' fees, they're charging me $77 to get access to my historical statements as I leave them for an institution that doesn't nickel and dime their clients.

James Saylor5I opened a business account here as I've heard great things about credit unions.. Possibly a bad Idea with this particular branch as I arrived today on the 2nd of January to start my transition for the year. Only one employee showed up today and a line of 10 customers sit in line and unable to withdraw they're own money because the one employee that did show up doesn't have the key to the vault. Hoping that this was an isolated incident and the customer service is better moving forward. 2/1/17 Update... Very happy with this bank a d no issues to date.

Hannah Gonzalez1Called in to get assistance with a payment issue to the main line and had a conversation with a woman that was so curt and wanted to constantly interrupt me before finishing my sentence. I had to tell her this was a problem I had before and how they "fixed it". When she admitted she couldn't help, she put me on hold for a very long time after I asked for a manager that might be able to help and she hung up after that 20 mins. This new Canvas had better have better customer service or I'm going elsewhere.... Public Service Credit Union used to be the best but now sucks

Jack Crosby1I've been banking with this institution for 10 years since it was Public Service Credit Union.I needed some assistance with an issue I was having with my account. I sent an email as I live overseas and had correspondence with a Vanessa. All I was asking was a simple question. Never have I ever been met with someone who is so rude and unwilling to assist me. The lack of care makes me want to go elsewhere...

Max Maskevich (Maximus)2We had to cancel a check that was written for our rent payment (mailed to the wrong address). Public Service Credit Union at this location said that it would take a MONTH to process the cancelled check and have the funds put back into our account and that we would have to complete a form and have it notarized?? Very strange. Thankfully we called our main credit union (Chevron West) and they had check cancelled and everything taken care of within two days. Overall,we have not had positive experiences with any PSCU in Colorado. Would not recommend.

Working Man1I’m done with PSCU, now CANVAS CU. The service is gone with the merger. No one has any clue what is going on. BILL-PAY service is not usable anymore. Can’t even tell if the checks cleared the bank. Customer service is useless. Spent ½ hour on the phone with a rep that was just clueless, he knew nothing about BILL-PAY service He kept me on hold for 30 min, thn just he transferred me to nowhere land. This is ridicules. 1 hour in to the call. And all I wanted to know if checks cleared the bank.

Brian Rosado1Small business shop on the University strip and occasionally need change, the female teller has been changing large bills out for us for months and today she's busy, no problem - I was told we don't need an account just to get change for a $100 bill. Lo and Behold he refuses to give me change at first, saying I need an account and if I don't get one - he won't break change for me. He said he'd do it just this once, I asked for a roll of quarters and 10's, 5's and 1's for the register. He hands me a ten, a roll of quarters and the rest in 20's....I told him I needed 10's 5's and 1's - he says well they don't have any. You're a bank, without change? Really? No - you just refused to give me change because I or my business does not have an account and you didn't feel like it. I had wanted to open an account there since it's literally steps away from me but your poor customer service clearly changed my mind. I could go across the street to Chase, they'd offer change with no hesitation since we're a business on this block WITHOUT an account in their bank. You're a bank with a pretty name - get off of your high horses and serve a potential customer without being combative- it'll go a long way.

Alec Schell5Easy place to go in and out of, staff is very friendly and will help you with just about anything. First time going there parking is a little weird but you will figure it out. Overall it's a good bank to go to not usually busy so it's nice.
