  I absolutely love banking with Burke and Herbert Bank/Clarendon. I've been banking with Burke & Herbert for over 20 years. Every time I go into the Clarendon location Managers Nancy Hong and/or Ahmed Quraishi have checked on my banking needs. Typically bank managers hideout in their office pretending to be busy and you have to make an appointment just to say hello. Definitely not these two... they are there and ready to assist with information, perks and ideas of better banking.

  The Clarendon staff are the the top customer service, I did my mortgage finance with them, they're always help us with our account, no minimum, no ATM fee. The whole team always greet us with their friendly smile. My whole family bank at the Clarendon branch.

  Wonderful and richly appointed old style bank with genuinely friendly personalized service. Checking account terms were as good as I've seen anywhere including no fee ATM use at any ATM, free initial checks, and no monthly minimum balance for free checking on basic account. I'm very glad I decided to switch from my former big bank!

  I'm so disappointed to have to write this review. At first I had a positive experience with this bank and branch, but it went down hill starting last May. Two particular incidents stand out: 1) I recently moved out of state and had been trying to close out my accounts/move over automatic payments to my new bank. I miscalculated and was off by $3.85 for a life insurance auto pay that wasn't moved over yet. Tried to get it changed in time when I saw my mistake, but the payment was already pending. That prompted an overdraft and a "sweep" of my savings account, which only had $0.06 since I had moved all the money out (the $0.06 was interest earned). They charged me $5.00 for the "sweep" (moving over $0.06). When I called to ask if this fee could be removed, they refused, which wouldn't have bothered me (it was my mistake), but the preachy "well you DID sign off on all fees when you opened the account" I received in response just enraged me. 2) I was going to let this go, but their response to the issue above was enraging enough that I can't...in May 2018 I went into the bank with my two kids, and my one year old touched an AC unit by the window. For some reason it was very hot, and it severely burned his hand--enough to blister his entire hand. They gave him a popsicle to hold to cool it off, which was kind, but in retrospect, they should have said/done something more. Maybe called the manager out to apologize, ask if he needed medical treatment, and/or tell me that they would be looking into the cause of the burning hot A/C. What I'm saying is they should have taken it more seriously. I contacted customer service via email to discuss both these issues but have not received a response. I WANT to like this bank since it is local, but these experiences have left me disappointed, and I would no longer recommend them or use them again.

  This location is by far the worst branch in virginia, the staff are unintelligent, incompetent and ignorant. I have been a customer with burke and Herbert for about 4 year now and have never had an issue with the staff until today! I was questioned about my ID, and interrogated about my current deposit. This location is the worst, whatever you do, DO NOT bank at this branch. I repeat DO NOT BANK AT THIS BRANCH. I will be closing my bank account and going with a bank that appreciates their customers and who value their loyal clientele!

  I was assisted by Aldo in regards to some fraudulent charges. He was more than helpful and stayed in contact with me throughout the week to update me. With the assistance of Aldo, I was refunded my money. I just wanted to reach out and let y'all know how appreciative I am of the professionalism shown. Thanks Aldo!

  Absolutely worst customer service from Ahmad Quraishi and Nancy Hong. Rude , disrespectful and plainly ignorant . With this attitude this branch won’t do well in this neighbourhood. In today’s age with so many options we will make better choices where to take our money .
