  I’ve always used Brazos national bank for my mortgage needs. Kevin and team are very communicative and responsive through the mortgage process and also locked me in at the lowest rate available with very minimal costs.   Rate was good, Service was not. Once the loan went to underwriting it was impossible to learn more information. Dates were missed, missed and missed again. Even after closing, the date they promised to tell the title company it was okay to fund was closed. Once Michael stopped wanting to talk to me, I had no way to learn anything.

  Working with Brazos was like being on a non-stop roller coaster ride. My husband and I decided to trust Brazos to finance our first home but we quickly found out we had gotten ourselves into a very undesirable situation. My husband was asked to provide several documents, which is understandable since he is self employed, but what became frustrating was the speed at which we were being updated and the concerns that continued piling up. Brazos communication was very poor, we would get very basic replies and impersonal service. They would reply only after my husband would attempt to reach them several times, they would make false promises and would tell us we should expect to hear back from them but they wouldn’t call. Our case stood “in line” to be viewed by an underwriter for more than two weeks and every update would be “as soon as we know, you’ll know” for weeks. It was a terrible experience and I would urge anyone trying to buy a home not to trust them.

  My experience with obtaining a mortgage loan through Brazos National Bank was exceptional. We had an aggressive closing date on the purchase of our new home and the Brazos team exceeded my expectations by having us ready to close a week early. Communication and follow up was outstanding. Every step of the process was easy, and I received proactive and regular communication about progress and next steps. Kevin Roberts is an exceptional Loan Officer and I have complete trust in him that I'll get the best rate possible and exceptional service. Angela is the utmost professional and the best Loan specialist I've ever dealt with. I've been in the mortgage industry at some of the largest banks in the nation for almost 30 years and give Brazos National Bank my strongest endorsement and intend to use them again when I need mortgage financing in the future.

  My loan process kept getting dragged on and loan closing kept getting delayed. Loan officer Luis M. was asking for more conditions after conditions after the initial loan approval, also the loan officer would not give you updates on the loan if I did not asked him. I had to email the loan processor christine K. and the loan officer got upset and said not to be emailing the processor. Unfortunately there are loan officers who are not familiar with their companys lenders overlays. Just because they get an approve per automated underwriting system they think that the borrower is qualified but that is not the case. This was the reason for my last minute mortgage denial due to not properly qualifying borrowers. Ive lost my earnest money, what Ive payed for the inspector and appraisal. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK, THEY HAVE LOAN OFFICERS THAT DONT KNOW HOW TO DO THEIR JOB.

  I just purchased my first new home with Brazos National Bank and I would like to note that the experience I received from the CesarTeam there and my realtor Ivette Villafranca was amazing!! They were on top of things during this nerve wrecking experience, LOL, and they were very patient with me on my impatience. Things went very smooth and our family has purchased this beautiful home we look forward to making memories with.   For Home Mortgage ask for things that are needed and not make Buyer go through the Hassle of Getting tons of documenta no matter what the situation is.. When your Underwriting Dept will end up denying the loan!!!! Also once loan is denied have the courage to notify buyer right away!

  After spending three weeks in the loan process they tried to switch my rate higher at the last minute without even notifying me. I ended up shopping around and locked in a much better rate through another lender.

  They did a great job for me! Best rate I could find, answered all my questions and easy folks to do business with. Getting my mortgage here was easier than some consumer loans I've done before.
