Made a deposit in the drive thru today (one other customer present, in another lane). No greeting, no no nothing. Not one word. First time I've ever had such an impersonal experience at the the Dublin, OH branch. What happened to simple customer service? Wow. Just sad.

Beautiful building and nice banking lobby, very welcoming. Only gripe is ATM machine is a tad outdated and always under maintenance. Overall awesome experience, highly recommended.

We have all of our loans with BMI and have for numerous years. We refinanced our mortgage with them a couple of years ago and Michael and Nick in the mortgage department were great to work with. We also recently purchased a vehicle and Cathy was so quick in getting our pre-approval done for the dealership. The loan showed up on my online banking account the very next day. Try getting this type of service from one of "the big guys". I cannot say enough good things about this team- BMI all the way!

My mom, a customer for nearly forty years had over $30k of fraudulent charges over the course of a year made against he BMI account. BMI gave less than half back to the affected accounts. In my estimation their services and the bylaws they claim prevent them from doing more are not enough. They could offer elder education and get people more fluent with modern banking. Not to mention giving more of the stolen money back. They can write off losses but just passed the expense on to my elderly mother on a fixed income. Not cool. Not classy. Not distinct from how one would treated from a big bank. She’s been a customer for so long but it doesn’t feel like they ‘have her back’ much at all. Your money isn’t safe here. Consider another bank and don’t buy this whole ‘member’ language.

Update 1/8/2021 - I want to do Mobile deposits. I have to request to be able to do that for each account I have. I have three - it is a 25$ fee for each account. If they were not local to me, I would change banks. Mobile Banking is Free at the other Credit Unions I use - like Navy Federal. A Credit Union is supposed to be about the members, BMI has forgotten that. The larger BMI FCU gets, the worse it gets. Been a member for over 30 years. Each year I consider closing my accounts and then I talk with the long term employees there and change my mind. Here is a example of the crazy stuff that happens up there. I think my debit card has been compromised. I call and ask them to send me a new one. No problem they say, a couple of days go by and I call to inquire about the new card and some bank charges on my account. I get a new debit card from each conversation. Then a week after I get 2 cards, I get a brand new copy of the card I canceled. Just makes you wonder.

This wonderful institution helped me during a financial crisis when no one else would. I'd lost my home...everything! They gave me a 2nd chance checking account when I thought no one would. I felt like a total failure losing, what I'd worked so hard for. But BMI has helped me more times than I can possibly post here. Kind, kind, kind, folks. Thank you for being so gracious and helpful!

Always exceptional service, but this past week I was concerned about getting quarters for the laundry mat with the lobby being closed and only able to use a drive-through. The staff was very accommodating and checked out my transaction then came and dropped the quarters at the front for me. Just wish that the coffee machine was more suitable for guests to take a cup with us. Lids would be nice. That’s my only complaint

I have my auto loan through BMI. I will say that their phone customer service is pretty good but their online bill pay options have to be updated. First you have to call to request online access, then it takes time and a few steps to add an external account, then after making an online payment, you have to go back into the transactions to approve the transfer. I’ve been paying bills online for over 15 years and this is the most counter-intuitive system I’ve ever experienced.

Honestly, I'm surprised this bank has been voted the best bank in Columbus, or whatever that ridiculous award is, because I have banked with BMI for 7 years and they have been the worst bank I have ever dealt with, and I've banked with Chase and Bank of America before. Dare I say it, I do think there is slight nepotism/racism amongst the staff. The way they process your transactions is never the same (even if the transaction has been in your account before), their fee policy is ridiculous (I have had over $1000 in fees in the past year taken from me), getting a loan is like pulling teeth (painful), and if you ever leave the area, it is incredibly hard to get your money out of your account in a convenient manner. The reason I'm writing this review is due to the fact that my direct deposit did not post as scheduled. Now, keep in mind, my direct deposit has posted early in the morning or at midnight without any trouble previously. However, for some strange reason, my direct deposit did not post. I called immediately and asked what the problem was and spoke to "Vickie" and she informed me that it wasn't even pending and to talk to my payroll department. That made no sense, considering that when I checked my employer's payroll system, it shows as having been sent to my account. She then asks me if this is the first time a direct deposit from this company has ever come in, to which I tell her no. I informed her to go back in my transaction history and she could see that. And what do you know? Last direct deposit posted IN THE MORNING. She then tells me, "I have no idea why it's not posting or even pending. Check back in the afternoon." Of course because I have things coming out as scheduled, I'm hit with fees. No regard for how this has screwed me over and I'm sure those fees won't be refunded. They sure do "make banking personal." More like making it a personal vendetta against you. I'm planning to switch banks as soon as possible.

I originally opened an account with them in Dec 2018 because they had a 0 transfer fee, 0% apr visa. It took a while for them to get the account open, so finally in the first week of January, I called to discuss the process of balance transfer and low and behold, it was a "promotional offer" that ended the month prior. Ok, no big deal, I decided to keep the account open and see if there are other perks of having an account with BMI. After 6 months, they started taking a $5/mo maintenance fee, while is quite surprising as i have accounts at 8 different banks and 1 credit union and none charge a monthly fee. In fact, my other credit union account (Wright patt credit union which I highly recommend) gave me $50 for having an account with them. Bottom line, you can do better than BMI. Dont waste your time...
