Joy Zelmanovich5I found Better when doing a Google search for a refinance. They had the best rate and reviews were positive. I also saw they had good institutional backers/investors which gave me peace of mind. The only poor review I found was that the rate changed in the process but I honestly didn't see that happen once I locked in my rate (I think I saw that on the Mr Money Mustache forum or maybe Reddit?). I loved the online interface and the "tasks" feature was a nice touch so you always saw where you were in the process and what you needed to do. I just went through a refinance about 6 months earlier but with rates dropping it made sense to do it again. My refinance in the spring of 2020 was pretty easy but Better was even "better"! I would definitely work with them again and will recommend to my friends.

Juan Castillo1Working with Better.com was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE that led me to almost lose the house of my dreams. At first everything was running smoothly as the team provided me with a pre-approval loan that was higher than competitors along with a great interest rate. I decided to bid on my property of interest using the pre-approval letter they provided and the price of the property was 15% less than the loan they had granted me. Once in contract, i provided the team with every document they requested within a week. During this time the Better team was very responsive and answered all my calls and questions whenever i needed help. They assured me that my loan was moving along perfectly and that no issues would arise in the processing of my loan. During the second week I removed all my contingencies with the exception of my loan contingency since the team still hadn't finalized my loan. The following week (3rd week in the process) was when my loan contingency needed to be removed. Throughout the entire week i called, left voice-messages, emailed, and Instant messaged the team every day in order to get an update on the status of my loan (this was the only step backing up the escrow process). During the last 2 weeks leading up to the loan contingency expiration date, i received no answers from the better team. They continued saying that they were in meetings, on a phone call, etc and would respond as soon as they finished (that never happened). My loan contingency expired on the 3rd week and they did not respond until the next day (once contingency had expired!) saying that my LOAN HAD BEEN CANCELED. I was surprised by this news and told them that i could provide them with any further support they needed in order to complete my loan. No matter how much i asked for an explanation or attempted to fix whatever issue popped up, they did not work with me. They simply said they couldn't give me a loan regardless of what support i provided and that the underwriter closed the case. At this point i scrambled to work with 2 other lenders that i had previously been in contact with and both of them completed and approved my loan before the 3 week timespan that Better.com had been granted. Neither lender could figure out what the issue could have been that led Better.com to decline me last minute. Needless to say, Better.com did not even refund me for the appraisal report they made me pay for $550. This company is TRASH.

Arfan Farooqi5After 13 years in the same mortgage, I saw the rates at an all-time low, so I decided to refi and take advantage of the low rates. I did not realize how much the Refi process has improved in the last 13 years! Better.com was the easiest experience I have ever had with a Bank/Broker. They have the most transparent online interface and website. Most of the interaction and documentation was done on my phone! I had easy access to the needed docs, as well as the necessary steps (Tasks) needed from me to keep the process moving towards a closing and funding date. I would 200% recommend that anyone in need of a mortgage or Refi, should absolutely use BETTER.COM. 👍🏼😀

vijai golla5I was shopping for refinance and came across better mortgage. I saw the customer testimonials and gave it a shot. It is nothing like a traditional process. It was excellent and intuitive and 100% online. Allycia was my processing expert and she did an excellent job answering my questions and help make changes according to my requirements. The team as a whole was great to work with. Started the process on the 4th and closed on the 20th! I would definitely recommend better mortgage

Jan Adler5This was really the easiest and quickest refi I've ever done. I was concerned that there would be a loss of service since this was an online lender, but I had complete communication whenever I wanted it during the entire refi process. Their costs were the lowest, their interest rates were excellent, and their customer service was consistently professional, thorough, and competent. And, unlike the last lender I used for my refi, Better.com did not try to raise my costs mid-process. I'm completely satisfied, and I highly recommend this company.

Luke Goodall5All of my agents at the various loan stages were friendly, patient, and helpful. My 30 day escrow closed on time, and they helped me work through various surprises and delays near the deadline to get it there and fund right on the date expected. This was my first home purchase, and I would certainly recommend Better Mortgage to anyone. It was a professional experience all the way through, their web tools are second to none, their rates and origination costs are both very low (tried rocket mortgage prior, what a joke! Worst rates and costs, I couldn’t believe it). I was very pleased to be able to upload all of the documents they requested and send messages directly when I had questions, they answer their phone and return calls quickly. Their terms and loan documents are clear and easy to read, so I could be sure I wasn’t in for any unpleasant surprises. A great experience, by the way my APR was complimented by my escrow agent, local loan officer friend, and realtor. The best part is that if I had wanted to allow the origination fee to be higher I could have reduced it even more, but the rate was so reasonable even with a credit (rather than paying any points) that it wasn’t a hard choice. Skip all the other, this company is doing great work, and I think their name is 100% accurate.

Zack5Better was my mortgage lender, and the entire process was relatively smooth and easy for purchasing a home. I didn't have a real estate agent when I signed up with them, so I used their better real estate agent feature and not only was she great, I also got $2000 off closing! Highly recommend this feature if you don't already have someone in mind. If you don't like your agent, you can switch I believe and still get the discount. Additionally, I received the keys to my home the same I closed due to the speed at which Better disbursed my funds, impressing friends / family who said they typically had to wait a week+ when purchasing their home. My only complaint is that sometimes my questions regarding details in underwriting / closing were not answered within the time frame I wanted, but I always received a response within 24 hours. Can't fault them on that. I would definitely recommend Better to friends / family.

Lina Orejuela2I’m doing a refinance, everything started good, fast!! But it’s very hard to get in touch with the actual people working on the loan. I have tried to get in touch with my team; I have left messages, write emails and no answers whatsoever... I just know how everything is going because the app. It will be good if the loan officers get back to the clients.
