dsejour daniel-lowe1It really has been no real communication with this specific company. The contract fell through because of a unknown issue appearing. When the time came to cancel the contract the seller's agent, who worked for Berkshire Hathaway, started not to ghost my attorney for over a week. We get in touch after providing legal documents that we have to cancel this contract and need the earnest money back. After almost a week of me calling through out the day at different times there was still no answer. It took for me to go into the office to get answers. Even then they make my fault I could not pick up the earnest money. I left many messages but I guess so how no one got them surprising. Safe to say I'm not involving myself with them ever again. Hopefully you don't either because first time buying a house is already stressful and they are the worst part

Yalda Jabarkhail1If you want to deal with a company and agents that are not compassionate, unkind and unprofessional and balms each other for why things are going bad then you can hire them. They make you feel unimportant, not valued and have zero time for you. They never answer your calls even though you hire the agent to work for you. The agent assigned to me once told me “I could be doing a lot with my Saturday but I’m here for you” when she held an open house for me. She made my experience of selling my home so much painful so much stressful that at the end I just gave up and just wanted to be done with it. My attorney even told me she needed things for closing from the agent and she couldn’t get a hold of her that’s horrible. The agent assigned to me didn’t even say a word to me on the day of closing not congratulations or anything. I wouldn’t recommend this agent to my worst enemy. If I could give a zero out of 5 star I would.

S Jain1My experience with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services (BHHS) Chicago has been extremely bad. An agent was assigned to me for listing my condo for rent. However, for several enquiries from prospective clients, the agent would respond without consulting me. Upon requesting for regular updates and statistics on the kind of different enquiries, I was not provided any data other than the auto-reports on mere searches - that too occasionally. Upon prodding about enquiries, I realized misleading info had been provided to several prospective clients - notably on enquiries about price. My condo got listed from January 2020. Upon getting such tardy response from my agent, I reached out to Customer Service in July. A manager from BHHS Chicago reached out to me and promised to ensure better communication. I decided to give one more chance to the same agent. However, although the agent started making weekly updates since then - it was a surprise that there were 0 enquiries since I complained - something seemed not quite right to me. The agent advised on lowering the price - I lowered it even further from what was advised. The agent promised to revamp the listing and add more pictures. These were stated as done, but never reflected in the listing! And finally, a month from my original complaint, the agent in the weekly update meeting, called and stated that as per discussion with their boss, the next step was to remove my listing and cancel the contract. I was shocked, but gave yet another chance to BHHS Chicago - the manager I had spoken to in July talked about connecting me to couple other agents - so I could choose one I was more comfortable with. However, only one was provided, and the new agent's plan of action was highly unsatisfactory. At this point, I requested to be released out of contract. I was expecting to be compensated in some form due to non-performance of the first agent as well as my patience (and, time lost) in how the situation had been handled since my first complaint in July. In contrast, I was sent an invoice close to $500 for early cancelation fee and marketing expenses! My options were to either pay the invoice amount or work with yet another agent. How is it justified to charge me of any money when the contract cancelation was not initiated by me? How justified is it to keep re-assigning agents and using up my time with my condo sitting vacant? Upon contacting BHHS customer service, I learnt that BHHS Chicago is an independently owned and operating franchisee, hence I needed to sort things out with BHHS Chicago directly. So beware when employing services - even though you may see Berkshire Hathaway in the name - an agency could be just its independent franchisee with no matching quality of service or trust!

Joshua Smith1I have tried Koenig & Strey twice with both very unsatisfactory results. I believe they are a very disconnected company from management to employees. They should spend more time properly training their employees and possibly educating them the ends in outs of the business and how to handle themselves. I have been involved with real estate for awhile. I believe their employees are the worst trained and the least professional I have dealt with. I met with one professional to discuss a sale in our neighborhood I was interested in. I called twice and text once to the numbers I was given to confirm we were still on. No reply. We live close by so I decided to walk over. She was suppose to be at the property at 1pm, she was not. Called again, no answer. I went home and 30 minutes later decided to take another stop by. Still no answer with the buzzer or a call (fenced in property). As I was leaving I noticed someone in the window looking at their phone. I banged on the gate I waved and she came out. I shook her hand and we preceded inside where she complained about the Bears losing and told me I could take a look around. Literally that I could look around. She sat there texting on her phone while I looked around the property. It was EXTREMELY awkward.. no real attempt at engaging me!! I asked her several questions about the house that she had clue about. She told me I could email my questions to her and she would get back. As I was leaving she finally remembered to introduce herself and gave me paperwork. The paperwork quickly found its way into the recycling bin on the side of the property. Later on I found another investment property I was interested in. I started out with an email to the realtor (different lady) expressing interest. No reply. A few days later I called and left her messages on two different numbers listed. No reply. I then a week later called her office and was transferred to her office phone, where another message was left. Fast forward almost two months, no attempt to contact me whatsoever. Well done! Thoroughly frustrated I have now come to the conclusion if I find a listing dealing with Koenig and Strey its just not worth my time to even attempt dealing. I wish I had a business were I did not have to care about anything and still not go under. Imagine how well you could do if hired competent individuals with proper training? HOW DO YOU GUYS SELL ANYTHING???

Ron Perlman5Kittie Dyer and Michael Elkow are the two best agents representing the New East Side. They are experienced and professional. Most importantly, in a world of hype, misinformation, and aggression (particulary among real estate agents) they remain ethical above reproach.
