  I don't even know where to begin. I started working with Matt from Benchmark in April 2021. I was new to the homebuying process and petrified of owning a home. HE IS AMAZING!!! He walked me through everything, explained everything, answered all of my questions and didn't make me feel stupid for not knowing the answers. He crunched numbers for an entire year and constantly reminded me not to lose faith in this crazy housing market. Matt put in a lot of hours working with my husband and I and it shouldn't go unnoticed. He is a great guy and the hug I got on closing day was long overdue!!   Let me start by saying this is not a fake review nor did I benefit in any way by giving my experience with Benchmark Mortgage. My fiance' and I have been in the market for a new house since Dec. 2020. We met Matt Swartzlander with Benchmark around the same time. I had a large down payment but my credit was suspect! Matt sat us down and gave me a financial goal to work on if we wanted to qualify for the type of house we wanted. Well after a year of us clearing up somethings that were lingering on our credit we were finally ready to pull the trigger on our "dream home". (now it's 2021 and the housing industry is topsy-turvy) We must have put in 15-25 offers just to be out bidded every time. Just when we were about to give up Matt gave us the confidence to hang in there and not for me to buy my "dream car" because we had come so far working on getting our credit where it needed to be. Sure enough we stuck with Matt and Benchmark and our dream home became available and we were blessed to close on it in Jan. Matt and his team were persistent, accessable and made this partnership more personal than business driven. Benchmark made our dream come true.
