      Needed to deposit a check I received from a friend and the funds went through but after I already used the check for emergency payments they took the money I had on the check out of the account leaving me high in the negatives, I tried calling them from work being told it would be a 10 minute wait but no one was answering so I had to leave early to drive to the bank (still waiting on the phone). When I got to the bank no one had picked up the phone and ive been waiting for 40 minutes, I talked to a teller who was kind but then he brought me to speak to his manager who said the check i had was fictitious and talked to me like I was some criminal when I didn't even write the check. I left feeling frustrated and embarrassed and I called my friend who the check was from to ask what was the issue and he said he had to shut down his bank account because he was dealing with fraud. Won't be coming back here

      We've been with BECU for at least 5 years. I tried to use my debit card a third time within an hour at our local gas station. Nope "frequent use". How hard could it be for the algorithm to ask for the PIN on the third attempt? I don't need excuses I need the debit card to be dependable not have poorly executed security measures fail me. ( Have to drive truck that takes over $100 of diesel. Card limits @ $95. So twice to fill it up. Then a special trip to get gasoline for the lawnmower.) I'm very disappointed and Googling up this issue to see what other banking options have to offer. Edit the next day: Actual plastic debit Card is not working at all now, the next day. So I call the number on the back of the card and get nothing but a computer that gave me 2 incorrect options. Second edit the next day: So I used the self service option on the phone answering computer. After navigating, entering acct.#, trying again due to phat finger syndrome, seems I've tapped in a zillion numbers, OK fine, it's security; it asks me for a number I should not mention here. I have never heard of such a number. Clearly they don't want solutions via that medium. So I used the Red Phone Symbol and had dinner.

      They don't pick up the phone. Always a line out the door, few to no appointments available to set up online. Everytime I've called I've been disconnected. Demands: Open a BECU in downtown Everett. Pick up the phone.

      I usually have a great experience. But today I went to get a simple money order for my rent. I waited for 20 minutes. Got a text saying I was 3rd in line. And ended up waiting an extra 45 minutes and 13 people were ahead of me after I got the text. People were just then making an appointment and still got seen way before I did. I ended up having to walk out after waiting for nearly an hour.

      Pains me to ever leave such a poor review for any place, but I've never actually had a positive face-to-face experience here, largely due to surprisingly rude tellers nearly every visit, unfortunately. This last visit was essentially just insult to consistent injury. Had an appointment with a family member the other day; she was told outright that there would be no credit pull of any kind to apply for a home equity line of credit; a few days later, her credit score 'inexplicably' dropped 10 points following this 5-minute application meeting- This was painful, considering she is still in pursuit of a loan/line of credit, so this makes it that much more difficult now (even though her score was and is still good). She was denied application for the line of credit (the intent was to use it to replace the manufactured part of her home with a timber-built addition, in order to 'complete' the house already existing on her property), but the reasoning for denial was unsettling and came across as an almost blatant lie? I hate to be skeptical of this, because the teller we spoke with was kind, but seemed dishonest about the reason for the credit rejection because when the original appointment was set up, it was basically all but guaranteed. When brought up to others (even another lender), no one had ever heard of such a reason for denial and declared it a reach. An honest answer, however brutal, would have been much more useful and appreciated. Genuinely hope things improve at this BECU, but sadly, I can't exactly say I'm holding out hope.

      Our first experience when we first signed up was awesome! Amazing customer service! James R. was awesome & very personable. As new people who just joined it made the experience awesome & just overall happy that we joined BECU & chose this location! I just recently came back in to change my name & was able to work with Gerald & let me tell ya, he's awesome! Made the process quick & easy and enjoyable. I love BECU and I love this location!

      Had a awful experience with a manager at this location. I was frustrated because we were unable to complete the task for which we came in, partly because we couldn't access the information we needed and partly because of bank policy/training. In a moment of frustration I did a very typical thing and tossed my wife's smartphone wallet onto the papers in front of her (approximately 3 inches drop, 5 inches travel...just a sign of resignation. You wouldn't even have heard it if you'd been standing in the doorway). The branch manager who was helping us, a female, took it upon herself to try and scold me for that action and then comment on my marriage by implying that my outburst showed I had some sort of anger issue or even an abuser to my wife. What she should have said was, "Sorry. That is the policy. I understand that's frustrating but I am unable to help you today." Instead, I was so affronted by her so incredibly insensitive invasion and misread, I stormed out and told her I didn't care what she thinks. Worst customer service ever. Honestly, I've been considering taking my money elsewhere for the rest of the day. I just don't understand how anyone could have been been promoted so far and been so foolish as to comment on other peoples' relationships or misread the basic signs of frustration. I have to assume she meant to go a different direction with that and ended up putting her foot in her mouth. I'm still in a bit of shock and get emotional just thinking about the interaction. I've rarely been so insulted. Other than that, I've always been able to get my business done here in a timely manner. But the customer service overall is quite lacking and feels forced and fake on the surface. Employees will approach you in that sing song voice before you even queue, and once you're sitting they kinda just... let it all hang out...like not acting entirely professional at all.

      Can’t give a 0. Came in with a check I ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED to have at least partial availability IMMEDIATELY as I used it to open a new account. I was assured by the associate I’d have $500 IMMEDIATELY and proceeded to deposit through the ATM as there are evidently no tellers in the bank. Receipt came out saying 1000 in, 500 available. I left, tried to use it for what I ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED it for IMMEDIATELY and the card stopped working, couldn’t even log in online, nor even get to do a balance transaction. I am now told the check will take 10 business days to clear so I may have the money sent to me by my father who shares the same name as me. In 10 business days a person could drive from Washington state to Massachusetts, withdraw from his account, and drive back here. BECU absolutely screwed me financially as this was an emergency situation, and I now have no other options to wait 2 weeks as you hold my money.

      Jess at the Lake Stevens office is awesome and was a ton of help. I knew I was missing some payments from work and she helped me print out my banking history from way back. She was super patient and professional, and now I’m getting a couple grand out of it!
