  My previous bank in Carbondale IL had trouble putting money from my international travel card into my account. They made no extra efforts of any sort and I decided to check out Banterra. Carrie was super-efficient at opening my account. On the travel card problem, she told me they are themselves going through an IT reorg, because of which their own Visa machines weren't functional. Carrie promptly introduced me to the branch manager Mark. As the local executive authority, Mark spent over an hour talking with his HQ (I presume) to get the work done. It was copybook excellence in customer service. Can't thank both of them enough.

  Would give them a 4 or even 5 star, but in past few years that I've banked with them they have removed all of the atms and the only one left available is the one they have at the bank on the opposite side of town from me which is extremely inconvenient. That and I have my bank account set to keep me from over drafting, yet twice now it's happened an I've had a fee added, thought the point of having that was to keep instances like that from happening. Other than that the I've had a pleasant experience with Banterra.

  I gave them one star because it wouldn't let me give them less. I first had an account when this was FirstBank until Banterra bought them. Banterra has no noticeable customer service. The employees are rude, unwilling and unable to assist their customers. I am required to make multiple hour + visits to even report fraudulent charges and am apparently supposed to apologize to the employees for their errors. I am leaving this "bank" if I can ever get my money from them.

  They really do a great job an explain all the ins an outs you need to know about all kinds of accounts would recommend them for all your banking needs

  I changed my phone nr now I can't sign in online cans can't get my passcode because of my old phone nr. Tiered to get a passcode all the time I sign in my account online
