I had to call to have a simple issue with my checking account solved that could not be resolved using online banking or automated services. I have been on hold over an hour. This is absolutely absurd and a terrible way to do business with your customers. I can't believe companies can do this and stay in business. They should take pride in their customer service. Absolutely horrible and I recommend not banking with Bank of the West.

Poor customer service, been waiting to talk to someone for over two hours. This is really bad customer service. When someone actually answered the phone I was put on hold for another 30mins. I would not recommend them for a bank

It is next to impossible for anyone who works in an office to physically make it to the bank when it is open. 930-4pm are ridiculous hours, if you work an 8 hour day you won't make it there. Some thingsI dont' want taken care of virtually. If so I will just move everything to an online bank.

They should have negative stars. Worst bank ever. If there is a problem there is nobody to talk to and you won’t have access to your account till Monday.

I've been with Bank of the West in Denver for 9 years. I have a personal, business and savings account and will be phasing them out this weekend due to constant mistakes, misinformation every time I call customer service and terrible understanding of their app. The final straw was a 9 day hold on. $300 check. When I called to find out what was going on, I was told because I deposited the check using their app no one could help me. And that "technology" was not their department. The reason I was using their app was because I was in Bend, Or taking care of sick realities and the closest Bank of the West is 3 hours away. To make matters worse, i am snowed in because of a massive storm. The storm is so bad that central Oregon has now been declared in a National State of Emergency. I spoke with the manager and she said she would try to help me as a one time courtesy if she could find the image of the check. It's been 2 hours and I haven't heard back. When I called to check in she was on lunch... This bank holds money hostage without any apparent reason, do not use their app!!!! The customer service is awful! They have absolutely no understanding of modern technology.

The Banker was nice and professional while helping me. However, after giving him all my information to open the account. He asked me is I was a U.S. citizen and if I was a citizen of any other countries. He asked both questions after seeing all my information, proving I am a U.S. citizen. I found it very odd after all that, my citizenship was being question. I don't know if I made him uncomfortable or not. Or if this is standard, but from my experiences, it's not.

Might seem like a good bank at first but beware, they will nickel and dime you for everything, including depositing money into your own account. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Any bank is better than Bank of the West.

I hate this branch. Second time they wouldn't let me deposit a check made out to me into my business account. Never had an issue with any other branch. I've already deposited two check from this entity that cleared with no problems. I'll never go back to that location!

I mailed a check to make a credit card payment. The check cleared the bank but Customer service stated that I had not sent a payment. I quote a customer service rep. " If you had made a payment I would know about it." in a harsh, speak down to you tone. I asked what information should I bring in to fix this error?? Customer service replied " You need to be patient!" and then HUNG-UP on me. I called back two times to get the same results Hung-Up on. I must be to "Old-Fashioned" to expect customer service. This new-age hang-up banking is not for me . Yes my account is closed and I will warn everyone I know about thier lack of helpfulness.
