Dr.ChungusPhD2Just opened a new account Thursday, already having problems with the app, the 9 day hold on new accounts is awful, needing to borrow money from my parents to buy groceries wail knowing the money is already in the account is absolutely ludicrous, most likely going to find another bank just on principle.

Horizon Compliance1I bank with Bank of the San Juans and I've never had any problems at the Horizon Drive branch. My boyfriend recently signed up for an account online and went to the 6&50 location to get his paperwork and get a debit card made. He walked in and got in line to ask for help and they told him he needed to wait, which is fine. He waited for 15 minutes and then tried to grab the attention of a banker that had been talking to a coworker about her Thanksgiving plans the entire time he waited. She got really fussy and told him he needed to be patient and sit down to wait. He told her he had been waiting and she said fine, and directed him to a teller that also told him he need to be patient. When he was finally helped they told him that he needed to make a deposit which we had already done online and have since reviewed the charge on his current bank statement. Guess he lost $50. In an effort to setup the account anyways he offered his debit card which they could not accept for payment. Nobody was polite to him in any way and the customer service he received was a really horrible indication of what banking with them will be like. Obviously I referred him there, so it's kind of embarrassing to sing a banks praises and then have your referral get treated poorly when they arrive to set up a brand new account. Had anyone had the desire to help him, he would have closed the account then and there. Again, the Horizon drive branch always does their best to help me and I have no complaints but it seems that this branch isn't interested in new business or holding on to new accounts. Last referral I send there!

Remote Adjusting Services1Bank of the San Juans has been the biggest hassle since it transitioned from FNBR. EVERY time we have a problem - and more often than not it's the bank's fault - there's "nothing they can do about it." Specifically, debit card transactions are declined more often than they're approved (yes, there's $ in the account); online banking login - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't (same login and password since I opened the account in 2007); electronic deposits mysteriously haven't appeared even though routing and account numbers are correct). Customer service inside the branches has suffered exponentially as well, even though it's the same core staff, and largely a personable group of ladies whom I like. We've given them the benefit of the doubt on so many occasions chalking it up to "transitional growing pains" but after more than a year, this is just incompetence and poor customer service. I'm closing these accounts as soon as I get another bank set up.

Chris Thomas5I'm a local business owner and won't bank anywhere else. They are nothing but transparent, always seem to have excellent referral and signup gifts. I've been to most of their branches and always recieved top notch service. Also their online banking and app services can link to Samsung pay and other online plugins :) I love that! Definitely recommend

Justin Hudechek1Worst bank I have ever been to. Will not budge to help you. Absolutly unethical allowed 20 transactions in the negative which I have never encounter from any other bank. 30$ overdraft fees on .25 verifications from an account management app. They hid behind the contract to not reverse transactions fees That out weighted a debt that I spuldnt have had in the first place. I now owe the bank 3x what the debt is and they dont care. Stay away from this bank and these people.

Sharon P.2I like the people, but the online banking is almost unusable. I have to have them reset my password almost every time I try to login, and too many hoops to jump through. Very frustrating!

Rachael Rahorst-Martin5The staff is always knows who i am. They say hi to my kids and my dog, who are always with me. They even send out treats for them. I also have never had problems with my account.

Kristi Redlinger5You can't get better than FREE checking accounts for businesses, plus the personal service you'd expect from a community bank.
