For many, many years the Bank of the Island has met every request. Even in the high season, there is rarely a wait, a nice couch to sit on, have a cup of coffee and a chocolate chip cookie, the Sanibel newspaper and friendly faces. I also bank in NYC. Great bank, too. But impersonal.

I've found banking to be a pleasure at the oldest locally owned community bank on the islands. At Bank of the Islands, they know experience counts. Their courteous and professional staff will assist with all your banking needs, and help you secure your piece of paradise while offering a freshly baked cookie and coffee.

Customer service that is second to none. My family and I have been banking here for generations and I can't say enough about the friendly, helpful, and kind staff. This is what a community bank should feel like. No corporate hocus pocus. Truly a local bank run by locals.

We did a lot of legwork to get a mortgage and was told that the money would arrive today. We drove an hour to sign the closing docs but the money never came-hoping for tomorrow

      Response from the owner

We take pride in providing excellent customer service to our customers. We also understand the complicated nature of real estate transactions as many parties must work together to ensure a successful closing. Should you require additional assistance in resolving this issue, we recommend that you contact your financial institution or the closing agent directly.
