I gave them 4 stars. I have read the 1-2 star reviews and guess what folks many places charge you to cash checks. You should be so lucky that this bank cashes your non customer check. I had a great experience here and I had to drive 4:30 hours to this location. I talked to a helpful teller and then a helpful banker who was patient with me and made sure all my questions were answered and I was not rushed at all.

      Response from the owner

Thank you for the positive review about your recent experience with Bank of America. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know.

No drive through ATM. But saw one machine just outside the building.

Extremely hard to make a phone call and talk to a bank representative. The automated system won’t even let you wait your turn but requests you go back to the main menu to make another choice. Why would I listen to the same menu over and over again?? Very poor phone service support.

Tracy was a huge help. We drive two hours to open an account and at first they said they couldn't because we had to make an appointment. We called two weeks ago to see if they opened checking accounts on Saturday and noone said anything about opening an account. We tried calling before leaving the house this morning and noone answered so we went ahead and drove two hours here. Luckily, after talking with Tracy she made it right and made sure we were taken care of. Thank you so much for the great customer service.

      Response from the owner

It's actually not a bad bank, the negative reviews are mostly about complains for check cashing fees for non-customers. Everyone charges this. Opening an account is super easy, as long as you have the requirements, theres almost always available bankers here, sometimes you need an appointment but I've gone there multiple times without appt and was greeted and helped on the spot. The account features are excellent. Comparing to walking into wells fargo, this is a much better experience. Wells fargo has less parking and they never ever have available bankers for walk ins. The staff at this location (and the S Seneca location for that matter I went there too) is very helpful and friendly. The bad reviews are from people who don't understand the system.

Terrible service, tried to cash a check that was written from a customer that banks at this Bank of America location and they refused because WE do not bank there, tried to charge us $8 to cash a check there. We only went there to cash it because of the number of "hot" checks that we have received in the past. Poor, poor customer service. We went to Intrust Bank with another hay check and they cashed their customer's check there and we do NOT bank there and they did NOT try to charge us.

      Response from the owner

Hi, Joanie. We're disappointed to hear your experience was not a the level you expected. Ways to avoid the fee include becoming a BofA customer, receiving payment electronically or using your current bank. I know A LOT of folks make empty threats but hear me loud and clear. My husband and I had just talked about our plan for when I pull my pension as a lump sum payment. Due to the years of service I have, it will be over half a million. In our conversation we came to an agreement that Bank of America thus far has been good to us, we will invest with them. A little over 1 year ago my husband and I decided to make it legal. Since, I have proved to the State that my new name has changed. I received a government approved/issued drivers license. My husband and I have tried twice to go into the bank to change my name on the account to no avail. Once the wait was too long and the other we were asked to reschedule. With COVID, it makes it even more impossible to get in to talk to someone as their lobby hours have decreased to where a normal working person would have to take a day to get in to talk to someone. You have some locations that have been open on Saturday in the a.m., from my understanding that is no longer. To get to my point. I went thru the drive thru and was simply trying to cash a check I received from my health savings account. I was not trying to withdraw money or make changes to our account - just simply cashing a check. They received the government approved/issued drivers license with my new name. The government approved drivers license with my old name albeit 1/4 of the old one is cut off. You can still see the name. I was told that because the check had a different last name (my married name) than what is on our account, they would not help me. Mind you no other branch has given me trouble. My husbands last name is the same as the last name on the check and my government approved/issued drivers license. I was told that I should carry my marriage certificate with me until I get my name changed on all my accounts. Bank of America - you are the only one that does not trust the government. I proved with a marriage certificate in order to get my name changed! You asked if I had my marriage certificate however I have already taken the certificate in and was told since my husband was the main account holder I will need both him and the marriage certificate to accomplish the name change. Remember, my husband being the main account holder had to go into a branch to add me as an account holder AND our checks from your bank has my new name on it, which I even provided proof of. All of this over trying to cash a check from my health savings account. I know half a million is a drop in the bucket to you, someone will appreciate it.

I wish I could post a negative. Line...wait...is...forever! Even before COVID! I was in 3 weeks ago and HAD to get quarters for a project we do to help the under-resourced with free laundry, so I had to use the teller and my total time in the bank was 40 minutes!!! I SO dislike this branch. Largest branch, and yet horribly under-staffed. We picked BOA for a business account because of this branches proximity to our location. The ONLY reason we've not closed our account because it is such a pain to change book-keeping, but I think we're to the breaking point and would rather deal with the short-term pain of changing banks than continue with a bank that frustrated me every...single...time! (HEY, BOA...learn from Capitol Federal! Always well staffed and there's never a wait! It IS possible!)

Same as other posts. 1 star is too many. There was 1 teller and 8 people in line. Asked the manager for help on a check that had available funds and was drafted on a Bank of America account he said the check may be considered invalid because the amount was changed. I tried to explain what happened and that he could call to verify the amount or look and look at his system to verify funds. I asked for a new check to fill out, I also had a Bank of America card he could have used to secure funds. He didn't want to help. I took it to my bank, they cashed it no problem. Very poor service

Made me come in to cash a check. Charged an $8 check cashing fee. What a joke of a bank. Had to wait in line for a 30 second transaction. I will never bank here nor recommend them for ANY reason!
