Bank of America Financial Center Reviews

Star1I went into the Bank of America branch on Boylston street, Boston location and got a rude awakening of what discrimination feels like. While I was there, the check that I deposited got stuck in the ATM. I saw one of the employees assisting a Latin American woman (on the white side), so I waited for her to finish with the customer and explained my situation. Then I asked if she could assist me. She said in a nasty voice; that she didn't know how to use the machine and that I would have to contact someone outside the branch. Not at any point did she walk over to evaluate the problem. Instead, she continued to be dismissive and cold. I explained to the employee that it might be something that she could help me with since the ATM was prompting me to go back and put in the amount, but I could not find where to enter the transaction amount. She proceeded to ignore me and move on to an Asian customer that had just walked through the door. Talk about passive-aggressive. At this point, I knew that she wanted me to feel inferior, so I decided to speak up for myself, explained that I had a check worth thousands stuck in the branch's ATM, and to either assist me or call a manager. Again she argued that she did not know how to use the machine, but I held my ground. Finally, she came over, pressed a few buttons, and it turned out that she ‘did know' how to use the machine. Frustrated by the employees lack of professionalism, I asked to speak with the her manager. That's when I learned that the woman discriminating against me was the branch manager. I left in disbelief. I felt like I was being pitted against the other two customers because, in her mind, I did not fit the demographics of that area. The message that I got; is that my business is not as valuable because I am black. After experiencing this level of disrespect and unfairness from this branch location, I hope Bank of America does something about this systematic racism amongst its employees. I'm sharing my story publicly because I hope people will start speaking up. And finally, I don't want anyone else to go through what I went through.

Kwame Earth1This Bank of America has the worst customer service I have ever seen. My mother who speaks english as a second language went to this location at the designated appointment time provided to her. She wanted to open up a savings account for my little brother. The agent assisting her wasn't available, so the manager came over. When my Mom asked questions about the savings account and instead the manager began push other services she did not need. Once he realized she was not receptive to what he was offering he began to patronize and talk down to her. He was not willing to assist her at all. My Mother left the bank disheartened and demoralized. I am not sure if the manager has biases or needs additional training but I do not recommend anyone going to this bank. I tried to call the bank to resolve this matter and they are not picking up. I will be escalating this issue with Bank of America Headquarters.

Karina Ricardo1Didn’t realize Venmo payments back to some friends who helped me get back on my feet hadn’t gone through last weekend. Venmo tried to withdraw and I didn’t have enough, because I thought they had already gone through, so I bought a train pass and a couple groceries and left myself with $80 until the next paycheck. They continued trying to withdraw 3 payments a day and I got charged $35 for each one. Didn’t notice because I started a new job I commute an hour and a half both ways for daily and haven’t been checking my email, haven’t been spending money as I’m trying to save and get back to a good place after I lost my job a few months ago. I called today and they won’t reimburse a single of the $600 in fees. I told them I won’t be able to pay my rent, or train pass or groceries and they didn’t care. How can you take $600 from someone financially struggling? Why didn’t anyone call or text me? Why did the Bank of America associate tell me two weeks ago if I didn’t have enough money that my new setting would prevent money from being withdrawn with low balance and fees from occurring? Now I will be back to being homeless and have to leave my job. I can’t believe this has happened to me and I will tell everyone not to use Bank of America.

Kyle Alexander Murphy5Jarrid Diaz - Superb customer service The gentleman, Jarrid, was extremely polite + assertive on behalf of his customer (YOU) while on the phone as I walked up to the front desk to request assistance from a banker. During this short conversation, as I approached, Jarrid was able to advocate his way, your way, to further his customers’ wishes to their desired resolution and was placed on hold. He was able to fully resolve both of my concerns, all without seeing a banker, all while on hold advocating for this other customer!!! He was so polite and assertive, the rare level of customer service where your concerns ARE HIS concerns - in such a lightness AND firmness - it is able to change the mood of ones day. Sounds poetic, but so is Jarrid’s approach to work and customer service. Five ⭐️ in an age where five ⭐️hotels fall short. I’m grateful to feel uplifted in these tough times of Covid and unrest to find a spark of grace and light and encouragement. Jarrid was that for me today. Thank you 🙏

Seymur Babazade5Polite and pleasant staff. I wanted to close my Bank of America account because of my leaving Boston in two days. Young lady from the staff helped as quick as possible and draw out all our money from our cards (0$ on the card remain) and then we called to the number on the back of the card as she told us in order to close our account ibidem. Otherwise, without use it will be closed automatically in a year. Deserved 5 stars.

Steven Lefavour3Be ready to wait if you need to interact with a human being. (Hmm, why is their current spokesperson a llama?) They have lots of well dressed drones buzzing around doing their drone thing; if you are not in a hurry, it is fun to watch them. Oh, there is a cute little coffee shop next door; go there first so you can have a nice Cuppacoffee while you wait to interact.

Noras Meadow1Continuously wait in line for way too long. Plenty of employees milling about but only one at the teller window. Will need to move to First Republic. Way better service.

Jimmy Pantoja1I would give a zero for this Corporation of Bank of America there are a bunch of crooks who charge fees to take money out of your account I will check payment and they want to make money every way they could but also that's not my complaint I have money in disc Corporation and didn't want to give it to me because my address is a PO Box even though the address I will give them will send the mail to my PO box and they do not understand that their policy sucks they should not have control of my money in the way of how they treat people saying that you need to do this but they do whatever the f*** they want I hope the bank collapse get robbed and make sure that they don't have no business in this country again where in America and their big name it's a disgrace it's a bunch of crooks who are disappointed and cannot have the right rhythm of other banks that give their money to the right people and credit cards this is my point of view of a Bank of America
