  My son was approved for an auto loan so we went out and found a vehicle. We gave the dealer our down-payment and proceeded to secure the loan. The bank called the dealer and told him that the down-payment goes to the credit union and not the dealer. I've never heard of anything like that. Would they have wanted our trade in vehicle if that's what we used for a down-payment? Then they wanted copies of our bank statements to show we withdrew the money for the down-payment. Needless to say, I wasn't going to do that as it's none of their business where the money came from. After almost 3 weeks of back and forth with them we gave up and went through the dealers credit union. Something shady seems to be going on at Atlantic Federal Credit Union. Now we have to cancel our accounts and go to a bank that actually conducts business properly. DO not use this bank!!!

  Pros: People who work in the building have been fantastic. Cons: I'm trying to pay on a loan I took out and with their terrible service hours you think they would make it easier to pay bills online. They don't. I can write a Kennebunk Savings check and they can accept it in person, and through the home loan portal, however, they can't accept the same payment method on a car loan? Any phone number they give out leads to a long line of automated machines that don't result in any questions being answered. The one person I have talked to in my 2 hours of trying to speak to someone was great, however she lead me to another machine that lead me to a "stay on the line for the next available rep" that lead me to elevator music for fifteen minutes, a ring for three minutes, and then the busy tone.

  Terrible, so many problems, slow customer support, and as a essential worker during a pandemic they make it EXTREMELY hard to access my money or get to the bank, as they are closed all weekend, which is ridiculous because being open 9-3 or 9-4 is when majority of people are at work. Terrible bank and can’t wait to close my account and take my business elsewhere.

  Ever since this place turned into Atlantic federal credit union from York county, it has been terrible. Debit cards don’t work, wait weeks for new ones. Also if you travel good luck using your money.
