My experience with ACU has been phenomenal. Not only did they refund my account when I accidentally tried to pay a credit card with the wrong account (savings instead of checking) but they also refunded it AGAIN when my stupid credit card company automatically tried the payment again, even when that account was short on funds. The people in customer service on the phone and the people in the office have been absolutely fantastic, helpful and nice. The negative reviews look pretty sketchy. I think these people just don't know how banks work. This bank gets 5 stars from me! Thank you

Matt, Thank you so much for your membership and your review of our Dobbins and Member Service Teams! We're glad our team was able to resolve your issue. Thank you for trusting ACU to be your financial partner!

I had a pretty disappointing first interaction with Associate Credit Union recently. I needed help with a semi- complicated financial situation and found the customer service to be disappointing. The branch manager could have helped me but decided he didn't want to which was frustrating. I drove out of my way to come to this location; suffice to say I won't be back.

We have to drive 33 miles to get to this location (closest one) not so bad when we can use other branches for transactions. It is closed way more than what the hours indicate on the website. We completely missed a very important house closing because they were closed the Friday after Thanksgiving (regular banks were open). Drove 33 miles on Saturday after Christmas day the 26th because we work during their business hours, they were closed..regular banks were open. Once our employer approves other direct deposit locations we will be leaving ACU...The actual service is average okay....when they are there.

The loan officer assigned to my mortgage application, J. Pearson, did not create a good experience for me. I sent him an email asking him a question about my application nearly a month ago and he still hasn't responded. Also, the other lenders I applied to would call me once per week to see how the home search was going and would promptly respond to calls and emails and answer any questions I had. The other lenders were also available outside of normal business hours. J. Pearson did no check ups to see how the process was going, did not promptly respond to emails, did not answer all of my questions, and did not appear to be available outside of normal business hours. As a result, I chose another mortgage lender and am closing in 2 weeks!

      Response from the owner

Ms. Johnson, We apologize that this was your experience with ACU. Our mission is to exceed expectations and build relationships that inspire trust and your experience fell short of what we are here to do. We have directed your comments to our mortgage department management and senior leadership. Again, we sincerely apologize for your experience and we hope that you will give ACU a second chance in the future.

A rep. came to my car in the drive thru to hand me a withdrawal slip in order to speed up the line. I told her I wanted to purchase gift cards and she told me they were not sold on Saturdays. I was very upset because I not only traveled a good distance to get there but also had to wait in the drive thru line for 30 minutes because there was no way to get out of it without going through it. There should be a sign near the drive thru and online that give customers notice that gift cards are not sold on weekends. The number of credit union locations is minimal, which requires most customers to drive a distance to get there. I wasted time and gas going there today.

I have been a member for 35 years. I miss the feel of a small bank of decades ago but this branch( Dobbins) has been a pleasure to deal with. Pam and her co workers have always been efficient, freindly and helpful. Best bank experience one could ask for. Thanks Ed H.

I have used this bank for about 4 years now and I never had a major problem with them until recently. They do there job adequately if you simply use them as a bed mattress (something to keep your money in). I have an exceptional credit score and decided to apply for a $15500 car loan. This loan was initially rejected because of limited credit with ACU, so I told them to close the application. Of course they didn't. I got an email a couple of months later notifying me that, in fact, I had been approved! What? Now that the potential car that I was looking at 60 days ago is gone, you're going to approve me? That's hilarious. However, I decided to give them a second chance. I then decided to see if I could possibly get a substantially smaller personal loan for a cheaper (and collectible) M3, and I was approved for a whopping $750! Are you serious? Not to mention that the service (specifically, Deborah in Consumer Loans) was rude. Sure, the waits are long. But, it wouldn't matter if the customer service was actually decent. So to sum this business up as a whole with few exceptions: rude and inadequate. Take your precious time and bank elsewhere.

Today was the worse.. I guess for all of us.. I drove from Kenneasw to Dobbins to withdraw money..just to get there with the branch lobby closed and 9 cars in the drive thru and in FRONT OF MY CAR.. they blocked me off to say they are closing for a emergency.. I then googled the nest location 12 miles away..only to get there and hear them say "If you are not a home depot employee then you can not come in" ok cool.. i googled the next and that was 16 more miles away.. My total trip this morning (which is normally 20 mins) was 2.5 hours.. seems like I have to go with a bigger bank.. This was awful and they could have at least service me since i was already in line.. I will change my direct deposit info on line.. cause I cant deal with this..Thanks for nothing credit union

      Response from the owner

Hi Monica, We did have to temporarily close our Dobbins branch last week due to an emergency. Anytime something like this happens we let our membership know by email. We are also a part of the Co-Op network that gives our members access to hundreds of branches across Metro Atlanta. Those branches are available online and in the ACU mobile app. Thank you for your membership.

Why would you duspend Co-op transactions in a pandemic. It already hard to get out and about to do banking and now this. Won't use this location ever again, nothing convenient about it. I was going to open an account since it was closer but I'll pass.
