This credit union’s interest rate on auto loans is really good. So I opened up a savings account and took out an auto loan. I wanted to make an additional payment to my principal. So I came into the branch to make sure that my additional payment went entirely to the principal. I had just made the payment two weeks ago, and was prepared to make the normal payment including interest due in another two weeks. I wanted to confirm that my extra payment today would go towards the principal, so I asked the teller if I made the payment with through my online account, “ would the entity amount go towards my principal?”. She assured me that it would, and so I proceeded to make the payment. When I checked it, the system had applied some of my payment to interest, which was not due yet! The teller obviously did not know what she was talking about. But she did tell me if I wanted to make another extra payment towards principle, that I could do it the next time I made my monthly payment. It did not cost me a lot of money to pay the interest first, but it is the integrity of this institution that is now broken in my mind. So I took the money out of the savings account and took it back to Chase. It wasn’t a lot of money but it did have four figures in it.

Helpful staff and great services for your banking needs. Also an amazing dividend Rewards program to check out if you move most of your banking to Arizona Federal.

      Response from the owner

Hi Cecil! Thank you for your review - we really like our PLUs program, too! We're counting the days until the 2016 payouts can be made - it's one of our favorite days of the year! Thank you for being one of Us!

Started out going in to close my dads account that had recently passed away. I enquired about refinancing our vehicle that turned into 2 vehicles and a credit card and a savings account. The process has been super easy, thanks to Amber! We are so pleased 😀

Horrible service! I had a job right next to this Arizona Federal that I bank at. I pulled up in my work truck and tried to get out to use the teller and Some short haired lady with zero communication skills starts in on me “ You can’t park there sir, don’t you see we are busy. (Not 1 car in the spaces yet). I said, wow! That’s great customer service lady. She continued “ No, nope, you need to move. These are for us, our members... I just laughed. My account will be closed and so will my wife’s. Thanks for nothing you rude butch!

Went in to apply for a Auto Loan the representative was nice and informative. So we went ahead and applied for the loan. We were told they’d give us a decision that day or next day the latest. We haven’t received a call or even a email regarding the loan. It’d be nice to at least get a courtesy email and not have the customer wondering. Overall bad experience.

      Response from the owner

Hi Rich – Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience was less than perfect. We’d like to look deeper into this for you, to see why we haven’t contacted you about your loan application. Please send us a direct message on Facebook and let us know what the best number to reach you at is. We’ll have a senior team member give you a call. Thank you!

Joined because they use to offer good members auto loans for having good accounts, found out that stopped. They charge a monthly membership fee, charge if you use the ATM more than a few times, mediocre customer service at best. Seems they are more geared towards the higher income individuals that doing use their account much. In process of switching accounts.

      Response from the owner

Hi Jeffrey - Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. As a cooperative, all members pay dues into the cooperative every month and in return receive access to the slew of membership benefits. In addition, active members receive a portion of the excess profits the cooperative brings in throughout the year. Please reach out to us at [email protected] if you would like to speak with someone directly about the status of your auto loan application, non-Arizona Federal ATM fees or the benefits you receive as a member. Thank you!

Businesses who deal at all online beware! I went in to open a bank account for a business that up until then had been ran through a personal account and was getting too large to continue that way. The lady I dealt with was short and unapologetic when she asked if we sell any of our products online. When I told her yes, she let me know they have a policy that they cannot open business accounts for any business that sells products online. (What year is this? And what business that sells tangible goods doesn't offer them online as well??). They not only lost this business' accounts but my already established business and personal accounts as well. Update: a year later I still can't drive by this location without disdain. Their response to this review summarizes it. They are not interested in the business of other businesses, just personal accounts (of which they don't have mine anymore).

      Response from the owner

Hi Brick - Thank you for reaching out. We’re sorry to hear your recent experience with one of our team was less than 5-star, as we aim to provide an exceptional experience to all of our members. At this time, we are limited in the financial services we offer to businesses and have chosen to focus on providng our members with the tools and services they need to manage their personal finances. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please feel free to reach out to us at (602) 683-1000 if you have any additional questions.

Don't trust the people in this credit union. Because we were behind on our charge card, they took money out of my father-in-law's account. He's living on a pension and social security. They even acknowledged they knew it was only his money; but wouldn't return it. They had already taken money from my savings, (without permission) causing us to close all our long-standing accounts. DON'T TRUST THEM!! HOW do I send a direct message to you?

      Response from the owner

Hi Joe – We would like to get more details and talk to you about your concerns and recent experience. Please send us a direct message with a good phone number for you and we’ll have one of our senior team members call you. To send us a direct message please email us at [email protected]. Thanks!

Love the customer service, love the products and my small business communication is amazing. The loss of the star is for the newly established "membership fees." Wasent there years ago and now it is. Other than this one gripe, AZFCU and its employees are fantasic.

      Response from the owner

Hi Stephen – thank you for your feedback. Just to let you know, in January we did away with the membership dues for all accounts, and you can avoid the checking account service fee by making 10 purchase transactions each month.
