Highly disgusted and embarrassed to find that this provider refused treatment to a COVID-19 patient during the pandemic. My friend had recently visited this location and was diagnosed with the virus and was told by the provider to come back if her symptoms worsened- which they had. After refusing to answer the phone my friend, the COVID patient, emailed the urgent care in a last attempt to make contact before coming in. Paul Massimino dismissed her frustration in lack of communication via telephone and told her to seek treatment elsewhere. Please consider seeking medical treatment elsewhere as AMD Urgent care in Swartz Creek does not care for you nor your health.

      Response from the owner

Malissa, Thank you for your post. At any point in time, if you want to be disrespectful and rude to the staff at AMD, we will ask you to find another medical facility for your care. AMD’s staff is working 7 days a week 12 hours a day taking care of patients with and without covid-19. They are doing their best and unfortunately, as the COO of AMD, I will no longer allow patients to treat the staff rudely. Therefore, if you want to call the staff and company a joke, please use another facility. There is one on Linden rd, Hill rd and Pierson rd. Thank you, Paul Massimino COO

Scam. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY OUT OF POCKET WHEN YOUR INSURANCE SHOULD COVER THE VISIT. wont take your insurance and will charge you instead. Force you to get reimbursed by your insurance company later. last time I checked you should bill the insurance company not me. Starting on March 18 and lasting for the duration of the public health emergency, all forms of public and private insurance, including self-funded plans, must now cover FDA-approved COVID-19 tests and costs associated with diagnostic testing with no cost-sharing, as long as the test is deemed medically appropriate by an attending health care provider. This includes high-deductible health plans and grandfathered plans, but does not apply to short-term, limited duration plans. As outlined by CMS in a series of FAQs, there is no limit on the number of COVID-19 tests that an insurer or plan is required to cover for an individual, as long as each test is deemed medically appropriate and the individual has signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or has had known or suspected recent exposure to SARS-CoV-

      Response from the owner

John, AMD has 3 different Covid-19 test options. Two of them are fully covered and one is not. All patients who ask for the Rapid ANTIGEN Covid-19 test (which is the one that is NOT FULLY COVERED) are presented with the same document. It directly says your insurance company does NOT reimburse enough for the test. Therefore, all patients must pay out of pocket for the RAPID ANTIGEN test. It also directly mentions AMD has 2 other options that are fully covered. Basically it means you must acknowledge, sign and accept to pay for the rapid test or take the other two. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years AMD Urgent Care

Came here Friday August 16th after our primary dr office declined to see us stating my daughters insurance was inactive and that they don’t take patients without insurance (even though I was willing to pay for the visit) I begged the nurse to double check the insurance because we have had issues in the past and I personally was advised the insurance was active a few weeks ago. ( I needed to get my daughters prescription form completed for school and a refill on meds.) I left the PCP office and came here to AMD in Swartz Creek. I told them what I needed and showed them the form I was hoping to have filled out. I explained the whole insurance issue and that this happens with our insurance a lot. I was more than willing to pay to be seen and handed her my debit card. At this point all She had to do was swipe and be done dealing with me. Instead she sat down and took the time to triple check for my daughters insurance. Which was in fact active!! They got us checked in, script filled and forms completed with no issue and they were all so helpful & pleasant about it all. Amazing compassion and customer service from Jeanette, Colette-PA and Jessica-MA. Thank you ladies for being so compassionate and helpful❤️

Tonight I brought my daughter in due to a quip going to far into her ear, causing it to bleed. The MA Brandon was fantastic. He engaged my daughter and was able to calm her down. She was comfortable with him looking in her ears. But once the doctor came in, he was the older dude with grey hair, tall and had a nasty look permanently plastered on his face. He did not only tell my daughter to shut up, but proceeded to throw the otoscope and walk out of the room stating she was impossible to work on. Mind you, she is 4 and has had a history of ear trauma since she was 2 months old. After holding her down, which was necessary, she started screaming again- the doctor stated "your chin is going to hurt more than anything from forcing your face down!" He rolled his eyes numerous times and when my daughter told him it didn't hurt at all, he replied with- oh good cause my ears don't wither, and walked away. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO POORLY! The way this man handled this situation makes me worry about other child patients, or mentally unstable/handicap patients. I will be reporting to a higher up manager/owner and do not recommend anyone taking their children to this place. But let's not forget- Brandon was amazing. -Sincerely, one pissed off parent.

I brought my 17 year old daughter here after having a HORRIBLE experience at Genesee Urgent care. We were SO impressed with the staff and how they treated us. Not one staff member was rude or dismissive.

Unpleasant experience and will never return. My doctor had an entirely different diagnosis which was much more realistic in my opinion. We had to take my child there after doctor hours. They prescribed medication forgot to call it in. Then the doctor left for the night so they stated we could not get it until the next day.

My husband was feeling terrible with a really bad sore throat on a Saturday, and we decided to go to the clinic. Our previous clinic experience was a disaster so we decided to try a different more closely located clinic. We are very happy we did. Dr. Samuel Dyka was very kind, personable, looked at both myself and my husband in the eye to talk to us about his step throat. He treated me with respect and answered my questions even though I'm the wife. He did not kick me out of the room (the last doctor did for unknown reasons... My husband is not comfortable being around people he doesn't know, and likes a bit of a support system, plus I remember some things he doesn't) My only complaint is that doctor Dyka does not have a private practice. We are looking for a new primary care physician, and he would be perfect.

I went to AMD Urgent Care twice in the last 2 weeks and spent $150 because I needed to be seen quickly. The last visit I waited for an hour and a half to be seen. They said I had a bacterial ear infection and prescribed augmentin. They also prescribed prednisone. What they didn't tell me was that you can have withdrawal from taking steroids which I found out on my own. Ended up going to an ENT doctor and was examined and was told that I have an upper respiratory virus that can take up to 4 weeks to recover. He prescribed prednisone with a tapering dose. I felt like I wasted time and money going to AMD.
