Ally Financial (DFS) Reviews

Zac Crowder1Veterans please stay away. I recently left after 6 years at Ally. I was harassed by the EFSI Operations director on multiple occasions over the last 3 years. There was not anything i could do because she was a mentee of the Chief Compliance officer. After the fourth issue I documented it and sent it to HR. These instances included mistreatment of a disabled veteran with all good reviews over the course of my career. No investigation was done, how do I know? I was never interviewed. It was all swept under the rug. HR is weak and only protects Directors and above. An internal investigation by the ethics was even shut down by the ethics team because her Executive Director which manages that group. My job was then posted as a Director and was told by my Director who they were hiring. This was obvious retaliation. I am having to speak to lawyers as I type this forming a lawsuit. I have everything documented. As for Diversity, the Executive Director of EFSI has helped get his friends and family jobs over the past decades of his career. All white/caucasian. Now with the push for diversity he states in front of his department he doesn't want to hire anyone looking like him. How is he to be taken seriously? People like him are the very reason we have to have Diversity training etc The Chief Compliance Officer is the same. He just promoted two white women this past year because one was his mentee and the other was in his wedding..... I don't know if JB is aware or sheltered from the atrocities taking place below him. If he cares he can find out who I am and reach out. DOING IT RIGHT?

James Ray1My 2018 lincoln was paid off beacuse of an accident ally was paid in full by my insurance yet continued to say i owe on the the car, my credit went from 800 to 670, I put in a dispute and points were return ,but ally is still saying I owe a payment, one entry says paid in full another says 440.00 and another says 1.29, looking at taking another hit on my credit because of this company. Not going to send them any more money. Not too mention gap insurance didnt pay anything, 2 of the worst companies I've ever deal with, not even a 1 star rating

Drea Edwards1The company is one of the worst companies I have dealt with in regard to auto loans. DO NOT use Ally! If this company is your only finance option, I STRONGLY urge you to wait 6 months and try again. I have heard several horror stories involving this company as well as experienced their inconsistency, and disorganization. I have never heard "Im sorry for the inconvenience" so much with an established company. Im telling you now DON'T DO IT!

Taylor Center1I called for a payment extension prior to my due date for my auto loan. The person on the phone said that it was fine as long as I made a partial payment and paid the remainder by the 17th of this month. Since then they have charged me a return fee twice for a payment that was supposed to be canceled the day I called to make the arrangement and when I called to get explanation and to resolve this issue they act slow and are no help at all. They had me on the phone for an hour and transferred me to three different departments to literally not get any help or answers. Customer service is a joke and they are just money hungry people that can’t cut people some slack. A billion dollar company can’t return $62 return fees to me even though It wasn’t my fault.

Chris Radtke1Think ally should give me refinance loan after going covid 19 perfect with payments. Half of it I was unemployed.

Geri Smith1SCAM BANKING SERVICE ...... if I could give you negative stars I would and I only gave one because your system won't let me post if I don't. I went through the Customer Service recording at Ally and was told if I submitted my pay off amount using the phone service (which happens to be Western Union) I would be able to get my title immediately because I'm in an Electronic Title Program state. If I sent a certified Ck or MO it would take 4 days from the receipt of the payment. i made my Payoff through their service and now, today, talking with Ally they say it will take 10 days to process my payment and another 4 days to get the title cleared!!! But, if I had sent a Certified Ck or MO it would take 4 days from the receipt of the payment...and the title has to be mailed out. What happened to ELECTRONIC TITLE PROGRAM? What kind of run around is this? And it's almost impossible to understand a word any of their "Customer Service" say ....

Karen Overman5I have a deposit account and have never had an issue with their customer service. I recently changed my last name and it was very easy and could upload documents for identification. I was impressed! I love the 24/7 availability. What other brick and mortar bank has that?

Murneka Vickers1Ally Financial is the worse finance company. Their late fees and interest charges are ridiculous. I've been trying to pay my car off and they seem to be adding payments towards the end. Crooks! Buyers beware!

Cassandra Erickson1WORST COMPANY EVER!!! Will never do business with them again. Interest rates and late fees are outrageous and they’re not willing to work with you if you’re experiencing a hardship. Constant calls daily all day long from multiple numbers, don’t leave messages, and they barely speak English, which makes me believe it’s a scam caller. If they text, it says they have an important message for you, but then you go online to your account and nothing is there to review. They’re bullies! Wish they had to experience the hardships of everyone else during the pandemic and go out of business!!!

**1Wow. This bank is something I've been waiting for my debit card forever. I Tried to make a few "account transfers," forget it, it just won't happen. I've tried to send money via the integrated Zelle app, which worked once out of 6 attempts. Everytime I attempt a transaction, I either am prompted to change my password, if it's not that my account becomes" locked" and they claim they cannot tell me why... ITS MY ACCOUNT! The acct. rep. just told me that he "couldn't verify me," which is asinine, and he could "have an "acct. specialist call me in one to two business days." NO! I'm gonna be on the phone at 8am and I want to know where and when my $1000 floating around in cyberspace will land. Stay away from this bank. If you do conduct purchases and whatnot online just use Cashapp.
