I broke my diamond off my wedding ring and decided to go look around for a new one. Sean and Trevor was so professional and nice to work with. I tried on almost every ring and found one I loved. They didn't rush me which was great. Thank you and I will see you again.

      Response from the owner

Wonderful news! Thank you so much for allowing Alan’s and our staff to find you a great replacement. We look forward to working with you again

The manager/Sales Associate John Nichols was very knowledgeable and helpful in assisting me to pick out a diamond engagement ring. I had a very positive experience at Alan's, largely due to his expertise. She said yes and loves the ring. Thanks for your help John.

I called to see if they cash checks and the person I talked to said they did you just have to pay 40% on an item in the store. So I said ok.! I payed an Uber to get there to cash my check just for this guy at the desk to tell me that he couldn’t cash MY CHECK because I already signed the back of it. Honestly just think the place will go out of business. Nobody was in the parking lot was empty! & overpriced. Thanks but no thanks Goodluck staying in business.

      Response from the owner

The 40% off is not true. If the check is not over $1000, we can cash at this location with just a small 10% purchase. I'm not sure how much your check was, but there was never 40% mentioned. Do to new regulations in banking, we cannot cash a check that is already presigned. There are many scams being passed on to check cashers with checks already signed. Most banks will not cash presigned checks either. Alan's has been in business since 1988, so I hope we continue to assist the community for many more years. Sorry you had this experience.

Look at this. This scraped up ladder is for sale retail and with the supposed twenty present off and seven percent tax I save seven dollars. Seven dollars on a used ladder. Forget it. These folks are fair when I’m down and need to pawn something, but the prices on the items are not to be trusted.

      Response from the owner

Jean, we do have a sign that states that mistakes do happen in pricing and to please bring to the attention of staff and we can find an appropriate price. Sometimes if an item has not come to the floor in a certain amount of time, we may miss reprising it. We don’t want anyone to overpay and that’s why we have it posted in multiple places to please bring it to our attention and we can correct it. Thank you

Called earlier today looking for a hardshell case, she told me the brand/model and price. When i looked up item on google i was excited because it was a good deal... I thought to ask about condition, however i figured for the price it had to be decent. Well when i got there i was shown the case and half of the latches were broken, It doesnt latch down all the way, the man exclaimed... Well, you dont think its appropiate to inform me that you are attempting to sell me a broken item.. Wasted my time and gas. Gas costs money. I offered a good price for a severely broken me.

      Response from the owner

We are very sorry for this incident. We are under new management at this location and would like to take care of you and regarding this matter.

I bought a brand new camera in the box with all unused warranty info, for half of going price. You can get good bargains at Alan's if you know what you're doing. Staff was very helpful, allowed me as much time as I wanted to fully test the camera, as I was skeptical since the price was so good. I bought it and it's great. I will definitely be going back often to find more incredible deals. THANKS to all of you at Tunnel Road store!

I've been in here multiple times poking around looking for deals, however they are very few and far between. Let me start with their pricing... asking MSRP or over MSRP on used items is not a good way to make money. Ive looked at multiple firearms over the years, bought one or two that I couldn't live without but this last trip this past weekend will be my last. I looked at 4 different rifles and 2 handguns. All of these items were priced as if they were brand new in box or even higher than new retail. The items weren't even properly cleaned or oiled before putting out to sell. I've never had any issues with the staff, they have always been friendly and helpful. Ive never pawned anything so I can't say one way or the other on that end but as far as sales goes they are at least friendly. There are way better pawn shops in the wnc area that are more fairly priced and have quality items that aren't just thrown in a dusty case. If you're looking for a bargain, you will not find it here.

      Response from the owner

We will take your criticism to heart and do a better job. We also always try to have a very clean environment for our customers. If you have a problem with pricing, we base that off of the Gun blue book, so if pricing is wrong we should be told and should make adjustments. We hope you come back in and speak with Management and we hope to give you a much better experience

Shop there all the time , I look around and find great deals on all kinds of things, I talk with the staff which I know well by now and they are all very nice and helpful and overall willing to work with anyone on a purchase - good people! You have to understand on pawning or selling items these people can't just give you what you want , they have a boss who is in the business to make a profit not break even - also pawn shops are very important to the unfortunate and middle class, times get tough and you need help go see the crew at Alan's pawn shop tunnel road - Patton Avenue is the same just talk with them GOD BLESS EVERYONE

Went to Alan's for a camera. Found a better deal then EBAY saved about $50 and got accessories to boot that saved me about $60. My daughter ended up buying a smart watch that looked brand new and she saved close to $150!!! We had great customer service and everyone was supper nice. The guy behind the counter even set up the watch for my daughter and synced it to her phone. It doesn't get any better than that folks. I am a little shocked at the negative reviews because we had great service. Alan's will be our first stop from now on. Thanks guys (and gal) for a great experience.

We went here to make a huge purchase, an engagement ring. At first everything was fine. We found the perfect ring and had awesome service. We had the ring sent to be resized and cleaned and we would pick it back up in a week. Well when we went to get it a week later they had the wrong ring. That’s such a huge mistake to make in the first place, but to put the icing on the cake we were treated horribly by the management! We were told we were lying that that was the right ring even though I had the receipt and I could prove they made a mistake! Thankfully it was sorted out and we got our ring, but I hate how we were treated. I would NEVER recommend buying a piece of jewelry from them! Very very poor management here.

      Response from the owner

Katelyn, we are very sorry for your experience. We have discussed the situation with our team and hope to be able to rectify the situation with you. That is not how Alan's does business, and with another chance we hope to be able to prove that to you. We pride ourselves on our service and are very disappointed that you did not receive only stellar service from our staff and Management.
