  Communication is key and Umar and the whole team were excellent at giving me feedback and status updates during my refi. They were responsive and generous with their time. Plus, I am delighted at the rate I got! For improvements, I suggest that the document intake portal matches your emails (re: uploading documents securely). Overall, though, I'd be happy to refer them!

  Umar and his team were great to work with. They had a whole team dedicated to answering our questions and walking us through the entire process.   I highly recommend Umar and his team at Academy Mortgage. From start to finish I felt well-supported and like a top priority for them. I can imagine that among customers, I was kind of a "small one" (requesting a modest loan for a modest house), but I truly felt like I was their number one priority throughout the whole process. Umar was patient with all of my questions and his staff was always cheerful and friendly. I had an ambitious closing date and they pulled out all of the stops to make it happen.

  We were first time home buyers, who really didn't have a great idea of what we could qualify for or be able to purchase. Academy Mortgage came highly recommended, and really eased my nerves through the loan process. All documents could be easily uploaded online or with the App, and they gave us everything we needed. Umar went above and beyond to help us get the house we fell in love with, and worked weekends to get it done. The entire process from pre-approval to close lasted right around 1 month, which is much quicker than we ever expected! We had a great experience, and would definitely recommend for experienced or first time home buyers.

  I’ve refinanced my house twice with Chris and both times it was excellent! Quick and easy but also got a great deal! I would recommend Chris to do your next home purchase loan or refinance to all my family and friends.

  Academy Mortgage was well recommended to me and after reading reviews I was quite excited to work with them. Unfortunately I did not have the same experience as others did, rates that were given were far and beyond what the regional averages were and lack of communication with regards to final loan disclosures and closing costs left something to be desired. FYI I am also a first time buyer which didn’t help in this instance. I will say they are extremely good at closing on time, we had a tight 2 week close and everything moved quickly to ensure we met that deadline which I am grateful for. In a competitive Seattle market closing fast might be more important than securing the best long term loan. Understand what you want out of your mortgage lender.

  My wife and I were first time home buyers and our realtor recommended we talk with Umar about options that might work for us. Umar was great and really took the time to talk us through all the various options, with their pros and cons, and helped us make a decision that we both felt really comfortable with. Communications were always clear and he really worked to make things easy for us. Plus, the rapid closing that he was able to offer, which was far quicker than a big bank would likely have been able to offer, helped really strengthen our offer.
