  I retired from a banking institution and in preparation for our move to the Raleigh area, I contacted the mortgage lender with my bank and requested an appointment. Due to high demand for mortgages, the mortgage officer had his assistant return my call and explain that it would be at least 2 weeks before I could get an appointment. As we needed to move quickly, I was referred to John Raymond with 1st Raleigh Mortgage, who called me the same day and assured me that we could meet a 45 day closing schedule. He was able to quickly issue a preapproval letter so we could begin our search. Upon being notified that our offer was accepted, John began work immediately and having purchased several prior homes, this was the easiest mortgage experience I have ever encountered. John and the mortgage processor always responded the same day I had a question or needed clarification on an item that had been requested. Emails were utilized for efficiency; however, phone calls were made when necessary. Always on the same day a message was left. The mortgage processor even responded on a weekend, which was not expected, but very impressive. The closing was uneventful and I cannot believe that we purchased a home in the Raleigh area with a 45 day closing window without any hair raising moments. Dealing with John was a pleasure and I would highly recommend him to our friends and family. Great job! Your attention to detail and responsiveness made this process so much easier than we anticipated.
