Tabitha Lanier5One of the best banks I have banked at. You don't have to wait for a week or more for a debit card. Just a drive to the main branch after about an hour wait. I just wish I could use another debit or credit card on their online banking when I need to make a loan payment. Other than that this bank is perfect for me.
Response from the ownerTabitha - thank you so much for your positive feedback. We do have some options for loan payments that I will share with you in a direct email. Thank you for using 1st Community FCU!!

Steven Boyce1Forcing everyone (including elders) to remove their masks is the equivalent to forcing people to wear a masks. Absolutely unethical and unjust, if you don’t wear one great but forcing people to take it off is VERY weird and I felt uncomfortable. I didn’t want my real name attached to this either so this is not my real name. I wouldn’t go inside this building because they have no respect for you or autonomy. I have to assume the owner isn’t a good person lol how do you make a decision like that no other businesses have done this.
Response from the ownerWe apologize for making anyone uncomfortable, but we are a financial institution and we have to ensure the safety and security of our staff and other members in the Credit Union. People wearing only a mask are asked to keep it down upon entry and then it can be put back up immediately. People additionally wearing hoodies, caps and dark glasses where they are totally unrecognizable will be asked to remove them. This was a standard policy even before COVID.

KAY HARBOUR2I know that financial institutions check credit when an account is opened. However, that credit check should NOT be a hard hit. Experian notified me that my credit had been checked for an installment loan, thereby lowering my score. I simply opened a small savings acct and a money market account and I feel that should NOT lower my credit score. I plan to buy or lease a vehicle within the next 6 months and wanted my score to be great. I'm very disappointed that this happened. I'm pretty sure there are other innocent account openers that don't realize their credit has been affected. I will say that someone from the office has contacted me about this, which I appreciate.

Seth W.1Great place to get a car loan but terrible place to work. They pay 9.25 and hour when you start out and it’s a max of 4% increase each year, if you’re lucky. That’s like .50 cents maybe... don’t let them find out you’re actively looking for other employment, they won’t go to the next disciplinary action. They just fire you. UPDATE: 10/12/18 Made the mistake of getting a credit card with them, trying to close my account there and I can’t since they’re doing some kind of conversation, definitely an Old/out-of-date credit union. Can’t wait to close my account here finally.

Xrystan Griego1If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The banker that was supposed to help couldn't figure out how to even get in to my file, the secretary knew more than she did. The secretary at the front should be the one with the raise and getting a promotion. The banker Ms Hernandez needs training on A.) How to get to the bottom and deal with a situation instead of repeating the same thing over, but in a different format. B.) Take a computer course or a repeat training class on how to work her banks system. DO NOT choose this bank, I'm telling you , you'll be disappointed. This is not the first bad experience, just the first time I would like to voice about it.

Sels Brockman1Ive never seen a bank sabotage its own products and customers so much. They downgrade their online banking so that it's basically unusable, take away the ability to view previous history, they made it so that some people (including servicemen who have since left San Angelo) couldn't even pay their loans, and now they deactivate my credit card. I couldn't even activate the new one in advance because they are so entitled and force customers to do things on THEIR schedule. And now they announced some kind of vague "nominating committee" to filter out potential new members of the board. So if someone is tired of the nonsense and wants change, the current management can just deny them the chance. The old guard gets to be the gatekeepers. Ridiculous. No accountability. Spoiled, entitled, incompetent. untrustworthy and unreliable

kenneth dirt1The wildwood location has the absolute worst drive thru in town. I have been a member for almost 30 yrs and all other aspects of this branch are great. Just now waited 30 minutes and never moved an inch. Lucky i was able to back out. Horrible.
