This is the greatest Bank. Old-fashioned HUMAN SERVICE!! Always nice people. So helpful! I love them I've been with them for 25 years. ( Started when I was U of W Seattle). Yes they have an ATM. When they get an international wire transfer number they will be beyond perfect , but since they probably never will since they are technically a credit union- it's OK. I will always still bank here.

      Response from the owner

Wow, thanks Birgit! It really says something when a member sticks with us for that long. We're so happy it sounds like our services work well for you, and will do our best to find other solutions when they don't. We'll always be here for you!

I have been coming to this branch for almost 3 years and every single time I go pay a car payment, the lady up in front, I think her name is Jodie is ALWAYS rude! There has not been once time where she wasn’t. I prefer to wait for someone else to help me. Sometimes avoid this branch and go down to Yakima since I don’t know what her problem is, if she hates her job or not comfortable with the Hispanic community that banks with wsecu she should simply retire or work somewhere else with her negative rude attitude.

      Response from the owner

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Brenda. It sounds like we were unable to complete the transaction you requested yesterday at the Ellensburg branch and we sincerely apologize that you felt unwelcome. It can be difficult for us to assist non-members while also protecting existing member's account security. However, if the way we handled this transaction felt racially motivated, we take that very seriously. We'd like the opportunity to hear more from you and understand how we can do better in the future. Would you be willing to PM us your best contact info to do that?

Exchange rate burn... 0.75 on a 0.80 elsewhere plus a $2 ATM fee ($3 CDN).

      Response from the owner

We're sorry to hear our rates haven't felt fair, K E. We can confirm we use a standard exchange rate, which is subject to daily change. The $2.00 fee you mentioned sounds like it may be related to our optional Overdraft Protection service. Please feel free to opt out of this coverage any time, either when visiting at a branch, by phone (800.562.0999), or by sending a secure message through digital banking.

I really enjoy working with WSECU and will continue to work with them but I will not be working with Jodie. She came off very rude and impatient and did not treat me well. She made me feel unwelcome and spoke to me with an annoyed tone. I recommend steering clear of her and working with others at that branch.

      Response from the owner

Hi Alli, we're sorry to hear that your experience left you feeling unwelcome at the branch. If you'd be open to it, we'd appreciate the opportunity to learn more specifics about what happened. If so, please send us a private message with your contact info and someone will reach out to you. We are glad to hear that you'll continue to do banking with us, and hope we can provide a different experience in the future.

I... Love Washington State Employee's Credit Union (WSECU). It's the fourth bank I've had in town and I never, ever, want to deal with ANY of the other banks here again. They have some of the best interest rates, nicest employees, and best benefits available in Ellensburg. Of course, the stipulation is that you are either a Washington State Employee or a dependant of one (like me). However, if you are a dependant and you start an account with them you can continue using them even when you are no longer a dependant. If you can get in with WSECU, I highly, HIGHLY recommend them. P.S. The worst bank in town is Chase, by far. They will do everything they possibly can to wring as much money out of you as they can possibly squeeze with never ending hidden fees, and infinite mailed offers on all sorts of credit cards, especially when you become a college student or are soon to be one. They will try to get you hooked deep into debt, don't trust them.

      Response from the owner

Thank you for the rave review, Madison! We're definitely glad you made the switch and are happy to have you as a member! We'd like to clarify that while we used to be open only to state employees and their families, we are now open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Washington!

These guys are awesome. Friendly and know my children's names and converse when we go in. Great staff. The bank itself has been extremely helpful and has helped us rebuild our credit.

      Response from the owner

We’re so happy we’ve been able to help you with your financial goals! We’re also always happy to see your three adorable children, they bring all of us smiles every time.

Always very friendly and customer service oriented. Wish this branch was open on Saturdays or until 6 pm on Fridays. 😁

      Response from the owner

Thanks for your kind words, Janet! While we don't have plans to expand open hours in the near future, we do have some convenient alternatives for using your account when our branches are closed. We'd love to share more if you'd like to give us a call sometime at 800.562.0999. Thanks for your membership!

I love this bank. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t have a local number to call. 800’s are frustrating

      Response from the owner

Thanks, Nancy! We do have a local number if you prefer to use it; 360.943.7911.
