We love having a branch close to us. It can get busy on Fridays/holiday weekends. But we mostly use the drive-thru and after hours deposit slot.

if you use WECU and are even somewhat close to overdrawing do NOT use your card. They don’t change your balance fast enough so you think you were positive. Then bam, 5 purchases later and you have 6 16 dollar fees and purchases from DAYS ago are added to your balance (Some that weren’t even LEGIT. These TWO were reversed after an angry call I made to them) . All because this bank does not update their mobile website fast enough. Beware. They are trash now.

We love the convienience of having a branch so close to home. The clerks are super friendly. We are able to get notary work done there. The lines do tend to be a bit long bc it's a popular branch with too few clerks.

“We’re all in this together.” - WECU Only they’ll call you everyday over 8$. Then they’ll charge you 13$ to give them the 8$ they so desperately need. Then, when a pandemic hits and you lose your job, they call more! They offer zero help in any way. Our account has such a low limit, how could you possible need our money THAT BAD right now WECU? This is the least customer service focused financial institution I’ve ever used. Our other bank is waiving fees, holding payments, and are incredibly helpful- so what’s your problem WECU? Truly can’t wait to close this account. All they’ve done is add stress to an already chaotic time.

WECU changed their format, website, etc and in the process changed all bank account numbers WITHOUT informing the account holders. We have a business checking account that is connected to government contracts for electronic deposits. We have been unable to receive payments. The gov't requires a copy of a voided check to verify the account. However, WECU did NOT issue new checks with the new tracking and account numbers so we have no way to verify the account. We have been dealing with this for weeks with no resolution. WECU has been unable to assist in this. They should have notified account holders of the change in account/tracking numbers, issued new checks with the new information, or linked the old numbers with the new to allow for all electronic deposits to continue without interruption. We haven't been able to receive payment since February, and WECU has been unable to resolve the issue after multiple attempts.

EDIT: new scummy things, 2019 edition. I was charged fees for both having too little money in my account, and too much in my account, all in the same month. I am apparently charged for each time I use my debit card, AND writing checks. I know this was in the terms and I must have agreed to it at some point... but really? Charging me to spend my own money? 2018 (Original):Wecu did an incredibly scummy thing to my family. WECU did a transfer from my sister in law's account to an unrelated account I am on with my husband. This was with zero communication between WECU and anyone on any of these accounts. My husband and his sister are on one account for emergencies. My husband and I are on other accounts together. It is incredibly unethical and wrong that you'd remove funds from the account of a totally separate person to cover MY account, when I have nothing to do with my sister's finances. It clearly would've been very easy for me to just steal from her. How does wecu have the right to make the assumption that it wasn't me, and that I related to the other account in any way? We have one account with thousands of dollars and one with far less and a third person completely unrelated to everything. I cannot believe how wrong that is. If I had been called by WECU, I would have moved money over. Instead you stole from someone I have no financial connection to. Insane. We will be closing our accounts with WECU as soon as we return to Bellingham. After posting this exact review to the Holly branch, I just received a response to a review I left. I have reason to assume that WECU is either lying, or didn't bother to actually read the review I left. The review response claims that you communicated with parties affected. I'd like to point out, again, that I am an affected party, as I am on the account that was overdrawn. I was not contacted in any way. My husband was also not contacted prior to the other account over-drafted by WECU. Furthermore, if the third party affected, Reisa Newmark, had actually been contacted, she would not have called my husband in full panic about money that was stolen from her account. It is completely unfair and unethical that you specifically CAUSED overdrafts from my sister-in-law's account--an account that has nothing to do with ME, and an account that had significantly less money than other accounts my husband and I are on. My husband was contacted about the overdraft and made a promise to pay. He failed to do that. That's his fault. However, I am also on that account, and I received NO calls, emails, or any correspondence. Neither did Reisa Newmark, the person on the account that money was deducted from. Furthermore, my husband and I, who were both on the over-drafted account, have a third WECU account that had thousands of dollars and NO unrelated people. It makes no sense that you made the decision to deduct from an account with no money, rather than our business account that had thousands. You hurt someone by doing that. I'm appalled that the response to my review contained actual blatant lies rather than any effort to make anything right. If you believe that WECU didn't do anything wrong, please let me know the best way to come in and close all 4 of my accounts with WECU. I will be doing my part to make sure no other individual, family, OR business owner in need of banking or merchant services that I know will make the mistake of using WECU.

      Response from the owner

Edit: Hello Alex, We can see you're frustrated and understand where you're coming from. We'd like to have a conversation with you to help you understand the process we followed and discuss next steps. A manager will be giving you a call. Original Response: Hello Alex, when an account is overdrawn for a significant number of days and is delinquent it is our policy to look at other accounts the member owns to bring the balance current. It looks like we did communicate with parties affected. There may still be options to restructure what has happened but that's the extent we can get into without sharing more personal details in this public space. We encourage you, if you'd like to explore alternative options, to email us at [email protected].

Great Credit Union. Really cares about their clients. Very personable. Have tried to get my entire family to join but some are too stubborn.

The drive through teller sarcastically goes “In the morning meeting we were told not to discuss voting”. On the other hand Windy was wonderful and served me cheerfully a few days ago.

      Response from the owner

Hi Lalani, thank you for the candid review. We do encourage our employees to avoid any subject that might make members uncomfortable. We are sorry this policy wasn't communicated to you in a respectful way.
