Kevin and Lauren Gray5From the very beginning of the process VU has been on top of it. Miguel and his entire team were in sync and kept us informed about what came next. Our calls and emails were returned in a timely manner by ALL of the team. We enjoyed the portal because it was easy to use and get documents added. VU has made this process seamless and we are so excited to be homeowners! We will definitely refer others to VU for their loan needs. Thanks Miguel, Keagan, Luke, Brannon, Kevin (Lighthouse Program), and Jeanne (Military United). You were all a class act and we appreciate you. My advice to those looking to work with VU? Have your paperwork in order and return it in a timely manner. VU gives us the tools to make this simple and seamless.
Response from the ownerWe appreciate the kind words! It's great to hear that your loan team provided a great customer service experience. Thanks for your review, and congratulations on your new home! - JD, Customer Service Representative

Tony Smith5From our very first conversation, I knew we had made the right decision in choosing VU, but also realized we had a great specialist in our corner. I loved the fact that Miguel was prior military, so he could very well relate to many of our experiences and we immediately felt connected to the VU family! This was our very first time going through the home buying process so we were kinda nervous going into it, but there wasn't a time throughout the entire process that we weren't able to reach and him and get any and every question/concern answered! We found our home and had a VERY tight window to close in order to receive extra incentives. What I loved about Miguel was that he kept us in the loop and ahead of anything that could prevent us from closing in time. We put our earnest money down to secure the house and within 30 days we were able to close and on top of that, Miguel helped us to get almost our entire deposit back. I truly don't believe we would have enjoyed this process had it not been for us choosing to go with Miguel and his counterparts. If/when we choose to buy a new home, Veterans United will definitely be who we call. If you're a vet and you're looking for a lender, don't hesitate! There's a reason VU sits at the top of the list when it comes to VA loans!

Cesar Valencia5One of the reasons we were hesitant about applying for a home loan was not wanting to relive the experience of a previous purchase. The moment I reached out to Veterans United and talked to Paul, all those concerns disappeared which led to a very stress free process. I would definitely recommend Veterans United and will not hesitate to call them when we are ready to purchase another home.
Response from the ownerHi Cesar. We are so glad to hear that you had such a wonderful experience with Paul and his team. If you ever need anything in the future, please let us know. Congrats on your new home! - Jennifer B., Customer Service Representative

arturo trevino5To all the veterans out there looking for a finance/loan company: VETERANS UNITED goes above and beyond their capabilities. They showed me compassion, sincerity, and honesty in their work ethic. They will never cease from their work and make sure that you have the best experience possible. My loan officer was Joseph Sepulveda and I highly recommend him not only from a financial perspective but from a personal one as well. He showed that he cares for his veterans and he will do everything in his power to get the loan that you deserve. Thank you VU!!!
Response from the ownerThank you for the review Arturo. We strive to enhance the lives of those in our community and we’re so glad that the team was able to provide a great experience for you. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you. - Jennifer B., Customer Service Representative

Isabel Duran1I am the realtor that represented the buyer and I have never had such a difficult closing. I felt that Veterans United needed to work on communicating with the client, realtor and appraiser. They made promises to my client when they transferred their loan to them and did not deliver on time. This represented more costs to the buyer and seller.
Response from the ownerHi Isabel, I'm sorry to hear about the communication issues you experienced. Please do pass along the contact information for our Client Advocate team to our mutual client if they would like to speak with a customer service manager regarding their experience. Our Client Advocate team is available at 1-800-212-5200 or by email [email protected]. -Jillian J., Client Advocate

L L1We wasted money, time, resources, and effort working with Kyle at Veterans United. We never should have been pre-approved but unfortunately we did not find this out until our underwriting was denied... 30 days after putting in our offer. We lost out on our $1000 earnest money, plus other expenses paid during the home loan process. We were deliberately lied to constantly. We did ask questions and asked for feedback throughout the entire process. We were diligent in getting forms filled out and submitted. We did everything right and we were screwed over by our loan officer. I would also like to mention we never received responses to our questions from our transaction coordinator, Jaclyn Shaw. While she was putting together our file before submitting to underwriting, we naturally had questions about the process. We would email her, call, leave voicemails, and she never responded to us once. Our real estate agent, my husband, and myself will be submitting formal complaints against Kyle Gardner and Jaclyn Shaw on Monday for the reasons I mentioned already and emotional damages. We are first time homebuyers, my husband is a veteran. We trusted our loan officer and Veterans United to take care of us and guide us through the homebuying process. We are incredibly heartbroken by the outcome.
Response from the ownerHi Lola, Not being able to qualify a veteran is never the news we want to provide, it devastates us as well and we too are incredibly heartbroken that even though your team tried every avenue to make your loan work, in the end, we were not able to do so at this point in time. I am sorry you feel that you were deliberately lied to, we would never want you to feel or assume that our intention was anything beyond trying every tool to get you and your husband into the home of your choosing. As for the communication piece, feeling that you are not being responded to would certainly cause more anxiety with an unfamiliar process, being first time home buyers and again, am sorry that your process made you feel that way. Feeling like you have done everything right and made all the right moves for you and your family, only to not be able to proceed, would certainly take the wind from this experience's sails and that is so hard for everyone involved. I am glad that my team has been able to connect with your husband and have had positive and informative conversations with him, that is the progress we love to see. I know that my team is working on a fair and positive resolution with him and hopefully it will begin to mend some of the damage you are feeling about your process. My teammate Chrystal should be reaching out to discuss things further and we are always here and remain available for your questions or concerns. You may also always connect with us directly by call or email at 1-800-212-5200 or [email protected] to get in touch with any additional feedback or concerns. Client Advocates are in office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, and messages received outside those hours will be answered on the next business day. -Claire S., Client Advocate
