Veridian Credit Union Reviews

Rick Schumacker5Loan Request help was great. An eServices Loan Advisor with Outbound and Electronic Relations area was my contact. Okay, now I know that is some fancy words for Loan Officer and confusing for some but stay with me for a couple minutes. I was seeking a large unsecured business loan to fulfill a large order that was about to close. The Veridian first response was not favorable and I asked we could review our personal debt free assets as collateral for loans. After a few days, we had two loans approved for the total amount needed. Now, 4 months later, those assets are debt free again. I paid both off loans last week. That Load Advisor listened to my needs and what I had to offer. After more back and forth, he understood and offered a couple options. I said yes, and loan applications were processed and approved. I was amazed how quick he made this happen. Thank you C.H.
Response from the ownerThank you for sharing your experience, Rick! I'm happy to hear we exceeded your expectations. -KK

Dil Singh5Veridian is a great bank/credit union. I have been with them for over ten years and always been happy. Now I am running my own business and both business/Personal banking is done here. Went into this location last week and Wendy (not to confuse with the fast food restaurant) did a amazing job and followed-up on everything like she had promised. I don't go into banks to often and when I do I have a bucket list and it was address with her. Thank to the whole Veridian Team!
Response from the ownerThank you for the 5-star review, Dil. I will share this with Wendy and her manager. -KK

Aaron Hellenga1Why I give one star (strongly recommend reading if you are thinking of joining veridian) 1) I applied for business account w/business partner 2) they did not collect all documents for application when we were in the office, though I specifically asked if they needed the documents in question (because their site had a list of needed docs). I thought, well this guy knows better than I do. Maybe the site is not up to date. 3) A couple weeks later a rep called saying that new procedures require I submit new documents (turns out they were the ones I had offered the veridian rep in his office which he turned down). I sent those in to their office 4) Received two debit cards by mail. Then two more. We didn’t want two more - the two extra were a complete mistake on veridian’s part. Okay, that sort of thing can happen, but then.. 5) Three of those cards did not work. I found this out because I tried to activate one, and then the other, and then the other. Then when I called in, their call center couldn’t even locate them or look them up at all. It’s as if those three cards didn’t exist to Veridian, though they issued them. This was the most baffling error imo. 7) Yet the call center couldn’t help me - they told me I had to go to the bank. Why? Could really say - it’s just the best way. My impression was the center just didn’t want to deal with the mess 8) this morning, went to the bank - lobby closed 9) Went through the drive through, sent my ID and “phantom” cards though the tubes - started to explain to the teller what had happened 10) teller cut me off mid sentence. She explained they can’t issue cards, and that she was sending my cards back to me though the tube and to have a nice rest of my day. That’s literally all she said. Nothing about the obvious errors on Veridian’s part, nothing about the lack of help to correct these errors prior to this point. Basically just a “we can’t help you either, a-bu-bye” response. Summary: Many errors, including the “phantom” debit cards, the sending excess cards in error, the documentation error, the extremely terse, utterly unfriendly teller. And as of this writing I still have no resolution. Even before the above, I’d rate my experience about 5/10. I don’t blame the tellers for the most part.. I’ve definitely had friendly tellers. The teller referred to above is my only major complaint on that level. But it’s obvious they haven’t been very well trained in the art of customer service. That’s on the higher ups, not the tellers. I highly, highly recommend someone looking for a bank or c.u.: go someplace where the bank itself, not a call center, takes calls. This alone, even with all the errors above, would have saved a lot of unnecessary hassle. A bank that won’t take their own phone calls, but farms out all customer service, is a red flag.

Sophia Ridgway5The Johnston branch is the best! Wendy was so helpful and went out of her way to get me everything I needed! My expectations were not only met, but they were exceeded. Definitely would recommend seeing her to set up a new account. Shout out to Grace, Sam, and Wendy for being great at what they do!

Jeremiah Terhark2Pretty poor first customer experience. Opened a new business bank account and the forms were at Johnston to sign and finalize. I didn't get there until a few minutes before 5 but the branch staff worker wanted to lock the door a few minutes early and refused to let me sign the form and also refused to help me through the drive through even though the branch hadn't officially closed yet.
Response from the ownerJeremiah, thank you for sharing your feedback. I apologize that you had a negative experience. The signatures required on the documents are electronic, which is not able to be done through the drive-through. I apologize if that was not communicated. The manager would be happy to reach out if you'd like to discuss your experience. -KK

Anna Rugama5I just went in to take some cash out through the drive up and Nermina was so polite and happy to help, even when I was trying to find my wallet, envelopes, get my wits together, etc. She honestly is a wonder and I’m glad Veridian is there full of smiles even so early in the morning (for me at least). Awesome work, Nermina. You’re too kind. Honestly the true kindness is why I keep going back to Veridian. Thank you bunches!
Response from the ownerThank you for the kind words and review, Anna. I will pass along to Nermina and her manager. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience! -KK

David Hammett1The new "system" they implemented apparently doesn't let them waive a money order fee. They will waive the fee for women, but not for men in my case. LOL. This was the Johnston location. Next time I'll use westlakes. Biased employee.
Response from the ownerThank you for reaching out, David. I’d like to connect you with a branch manager to talk about your experience. Could you please send an email with your contact information to [email protected]? -HP
