      When we moved to the Madison area, we knew we wanted to switch to a credit union. This branch was closest to home at the time, so we made our appointments here. Everyone was so helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. They not only set us up with checking and savings accounts, but also got us a car loan approved right away when I asked about that possibility. Everything went very smoothly.

      Had our HELOC closing with Ada today. She explained everything in depth. Best service I had ever received at a financial institution. The whole experience just felt like being helped by a friend.

      Called to get a cashier's check/money order ready to go since I was in a time crunch. Mario who answered the phone told me he didn't work at that branch and could do nothing for me, as if I did it over the phone I would have to show an ID upon pickup. No offer to transfer to that branch to see if anything could be done. Will be closing my accounts and switching to Summit after 18 years.

      I spoke to two different people, Told them both and I’m on my way over to open an account. I get to both branches and they’re closed. Finally, the third person I call says yes our lobbies open at nine. Google has it wrong, and apparently the two people I called initially don’t know their lobby hours either. Very frustrating as I travel all over and was looking for a bank that was open at 8 AM to open an account. I don’t feel like driving all over and wasting gas just to find that these people that answer the phone do not know their own banking hours. ( not opening an acct here now )

      Had an account long ago for school loans, since loans got paid off they charged my inactive accounts until it went negative and closed my account. They will not correct their mistakes as I was never notified charges would be applied and now are ruining my credit. They will not fix this without me giving then the money I "owe" them.

      We just moved to Madison, and wanted to do as much banking as possible with a credit union rather than support big banking. We even did our mortgage with them. Their staff are helful and knowledgeable, but there are many policies that make it hard to manage accounts without going to a branch during very limited hours, 9 to 5 more or less. I needed to be at a branch to even set up an online account. Then, after specifically choosing them for the better credit union ideals, they sold our mortgage to Fannie May only 1 month after we closed. If I wanted big banking, I could have done my mortgage with them in the first place and probably had an easier approval process. I expected more from a credit union. Very disappointed and now stuck with them.

      After banking there for years, car loans, student loans, etc, when I got sick and had to go on Disability (SSDI) they wouldn’t wait for payment on a lousy $500 loan while I had no income and was fighting my Disability case. I ended up cashing out my 401k to have money to live on. I told them them I was doing this and they couldn’t wait a couple of weeks for me to get that money! They closed all of my accounts and ruined my credit. The real irony is at the time they had a billboard on the beltline advertising themselves as “checking with heart”! All I saw was a black heart with no compassion! Just remember, this could happen to anyone of you! How do you want to be treated by your financial institution if it does?

      Horrible customer service. In this branch you'll find a financial specialist by the name of Shane, and he is one of the most rude and disrespectful people I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. He actually makes it pleasant to deal with Associated Bank; I didn't think that was possible. I will do whatever I can do actively discourage people from doing business at this branch and with this individual.
