  Worst insurance company I ever dealt with. Like most insurance companies. Just want your money. Used an Inspection that was done months prior, then to send me a letter letting me know that they will not renew my policy. Once you file a claim this company they treat you like trash. Im a strong believer that reputation goes a long way, This company obviously dosent care one bit. Almost certain the positive reviews are the very same people that work for this company. If you value your personal/business property do NOT go with this insurance.

  I am a licensed contractor running a carpentry business. Utica first found an old facebook page from 4 years prior, of a business that was dissolved and no longer operating. The business specialized in a different trade. They decided to cancel my insurance policy without warning. When I tried to rectify this, they did not consider re evaluating. I have plenty of documentation to prove this was the case. Big waste of time and inconvenience dealing with having to find a new insurance policy last minute. First time I have ever dealt with anything of this nature with an insurance company. Speaks volumes.

  This company is ABSOLUTELY worthless! Insurance is in place for a reason and they do not cover anything! Contractors do not waste your money. Should have read the reviews before signing up with this joke of a company.

  We have been with Utica first for over a year. Never had an issue until we filed a claim for our roof. Spent a couple months trying to get in touch with the claim rep with no luck.left messages, emails, tried reaching out to supervisors and no one ever returned our calls. They ended up sending out an engineer who was a complete wack job. They ended up denying our claim right after they sent us a cancellation notice for our policy because we have a supplemental heating source. The whole company is garbage. Don't go with Utica first for anything!

  Went with the company because Gieco told me they were cheaper and had better service then my current company. Fast forward less then 30 days after then took the payment over the phone they cancelled my policy for "lawn sprinklers" & "underground drainage". Don't understand why they would cancel me when it was clarified during the interview what services I provided and i'm licensed for. At least return the other remaining months of payment you took from my company. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL

  If you only need liability insurance to show apartment building management in order to fulfill work orders, this is a fine, cheap insurance. But don’t think for a second this company has your back. They don’t.

  They have people on customer service that have no idea what are they doing... twice i called them requesting proof of insurance and twice lost my time with them..m

  This insurance company is the worst company I’ve ever worked with (for around 10 years) If you want real insurance don’t go to these people. This company is only worried about collecting your money. If any accidents happen they’ll deny your claim. They never pick up the phone or return calls.

  We had been very happy with Utica First…until they cancelled us for owning a trampoline. Our yard is fenced and our trampoline has a net around it. We never let any kids go on it without close supervision.Do you know how many of my kids friends own trampolines with no issues from their insurance companies? Do you know what it’s like to work from home for more than 1.5 years while taking care of two children? We bought the trampoline because we were homebound for so long and the kids needed an outlet and a fun way to get some exercise. Yet Utica First is punishing us for that. Read all of the exceptions very carefully before you sign up with this company…

  Canceled my insurance for non-payment, even through I was scheduled for automatic payments. Would not reinstate. Now it's extremely difficult to get insured anywhere else. If you like getting screwed get insurance with Utica Frist!
