e k1This review is for the Contact Center. They are using a third party company to handle their overflow calls who are pretty useless. I called with a simple fee reversal. The person who answered wasted 15 minutes of my time saying they were researching multiple times before saying she needed to crate a ticket. No one has contacted me or resolved my issue. I tried the chat feature and the session timed out. Although they had my account information did they contact me or follow up. Nope, guess they could not be bothered. Called again today and got outflow contact center again. I had to say 3 times that they created a ticket and could not help me. They put me on hold for a supervisor. Still no response from the real contact center. The people in the Unitus Contact Center are great and helpful, but if you cannot reach them they may as well not exist. This is not the level of member service that I am accustomed to. Who are you becoming Unitus!?!

Phillip Pommier5We've been with Unitus since it was called Oregon Telco Credit Union. Over the years we've found much better service that with our big national bank. We kept our big national bank for our business, but all our personal banking has been with Unitus for 25-years or more.

Violet S1I dislike working with Unitus. Everything seems to be difficult. My mortgage took close to 4 months to refinance without any issues on my end. Today, I come on a Wednesday before 5 PM the and branch is closed. I call customer service and after 15 min call, customer service cannot locate the downtown Portland branch of unitus just with a street address, city and state (??!!!) In the past, I was asking a teller if they have a mortgage rep onsite. She asked me four times in a row "What?" After I enunciate and refrased my question for the 4th time time, she responded with "I don't know". Well how about if you work in customer service you respond with "I'm not sure but let me find out for you/ask my supervisor?", etc.

Agha Zain5Unitus is by far the best bank I have ever banked with. I have been with Washington Mutual, Bank of America, some other credit unions, Chase, Capital One, Charles Schwab and more in the past. I love Unitus. I never thought I would ever like a bank (do you love your bank?). Everyone at this location is great. I have always been helped within 5 minutes of entering, and I have been helped beyond when the bank actually closed if I went around closing time to get some urgent things done. Me and my partner have moved almost everything to Unitus (checking, savings, CC, HSA, etc). From very small touches to big ones, Unitus really shows that it cares about its customers first. For example, ever run into a situation where you have to move money from savings to checking more than 6 times a month? If you know what I'm talking about, you know how that can become a headache at almost any bank because of extra fees or losing the savings account. Unitus actually does not allow you transfer more than 6 times from savings to checking electronically so that you are not, as required by law, forced to convert your savings account to a checking account and so that you do not send up paying fines. That's how good Unitus is. When I was with Chase, I learnt about this the very hard way. When we wanted to buy a home, we thought of asking Unitus about our options. We were actually managing some things in our Unitus account in person at the branch when me and my partner decided to see if we could meet a mortgage specialist at that very moment. The very first time we met Jill Wheeler, in that very visit, we were so blown away by Jill's enthusiasm and expertise that we immediately committed to move forward with Unitus Mortgage on the spot. We did not even look for or consider other options. From explaining the full process, to getting paperwork finished and making sure we were aware of what happens at which step, Jill was on top of everything. This was the first time we were buying a home, so naturally we had a million plus one questions. Jill made sure we felt comfortable asking all those questions via email and phone call anytime without setting up an appointment first. Jill also helped us when we ended up with a not-so-good realtor (our own choice, and not related to Unitus). Jill actually jumped into action and helped us negotiate with the sellers of our dream home. We were actually extremely surprised about this, as that wasn't Jill's nor Unitus's job (buyers find their own real estate agent), but Jill carried us all the way through when our own non-Unitus real estate agent failed fully. Jill was extremely empathetic, knowledgeable, professional, a great negotiator and also down to earth. We felt very comfortable having Jill help us get our home. From the day we met Jill to the day we got the keys in our hands was less than 90 days (88 days to be exact). I recommend Jill and Unitus 100%. You will not go wrong with them, whether it's for simple banking powered by decent good human beings or for finding your new home.

Pam Louie2I wish Unitus was still open on Saturdays! I work grave shifts and like the personal face to face rather than using the terrible updated app. It is not user friendly. What really is upsetting is getting expensive overdraft fees taken out on the same day I make a cash deposit at a closer Co-Op ATM than Unitus. I wanted to talk to a teller that could help me remove the fee. There are so many rules that didn’t exist back in the day when credit unions were preferable to traditional savings and loan banks. I’m just about ready to close all of my accounts with Unitus and go elsewhere after being loyal customer for 10 years.

Dave Green5I've been a customer for about 5-6 years. I have two boys in college, so between the three of us, we have 6 separate accounts through Unitus, so I bank through Unitus a lot. This credit union has been very easy to work with. Their online banking services make it easy for us to move funds between accounts. They've been very helpful when I've needed to actually go into a branch for help. And, there's been a few times where I've made mistakes transferring funds or paying the university out of the wrong account, and they've been great to work with, even dismissing overdraft charges for me a couple of times (when it was actually my mistake). I have been a customer of large national banks (Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase) in the past, and I have never regretted ditching those large banks and banking with Unitus.
