Whatever you do, do not use this branch or ATM. We recently had a card compromised at this branch's ATM but more recently had $905 effectively STOLEN by the machine. We attempted to deposit $905 using the machine's cash deposit system. The machine took the cash, errored out, and spit out a receipt saying to call in. We were then told that the money had NOT been applied to our account, they would NOT apply a credit during the process, and that the investigation may take up to 45 days to complete. I was told to call the bank in the branch in the morning and they would be able to resolve it much sooner. The branch, also not accepting any responsibility proceeded to blame the ATM company and even volunteer the information that it's been happening "to quite a few customers lately. We should probably get it looked at." and at the end of the day received the same answer. 45 days. A month and a half. A MONTH AND A HALF for them to keep MY money without providing me a provisional credit during this time. When the issue is resolved we'll be cancelling our account, and may seek legal action for any additional financial issues caused by their error.

      Response from the owner

Hello Nick, I'm sorry to hear of the ATM issue you experienced. When a dispute is filed on an ATM transaction we do provide provisional credit in 10 business days if the claim isn't resolved by that time. To be sure that a dispute was filed on the transaction, we recommend that you call Customer Service at 800.872.2657. A representative will be glad to go over the ATM dispute disclosures to ensure you have a good understanding of how the process works. I hope the matter is quickly resolved for you. Regards, ^Kim

UPDATE 2: Went to the bank in early June after complaining on the phone about their "fees". At the bank I was told it would be closed the next day. Two months later they sent it to their default services department. I've never had such terrible service or loan shark like fees from a credit union. Do yourself a favor and join a credit union. UPDATE: Another bank just settled for nearly $70 million dollars for what this bank sent me a letter for. I would file a complaint and seek legal advice before paying their "Extended Overdraft Fee" I had an account there that I had forgotten about. Apparently their monthly fees finally ran the account out of money. Their "dormant account" fee put the balance at -$0.28. Instead of just closing it they are trying to charge a $36 "Extended Overdraft Fee, and if I hadn't caught it they would charge me another $30 "closing fee" after another month... stay far far away from this "bank". Not sure if that's even legal, but I guess I'm about to find out.

      Response from the owner

Hello Jeffrey, We are so sorry to hear you had a less than satisfactory experience during your recent visit to your local branch. If you would like to speak with a customer care representative you are welcome to do so by calling 877-654-4918. Kind regards, The U.S. Bank Social Media Team

OK -- so I banked with this outfit from way back when it was First National in downtown Iowa City-- 1991 -- then moved to North Liberty and eventually moved my account there -- because a colleague of mine at the law school said Lori Meyer is the best personal banker in Iowa. She was the manager then and yes, she was the best. I now live in California and had to deal with some account details through my local branch in Menlo Park. Apparently they goofed it up and so I got an overdraft notice -- for a charitable organization account that had moved all of its money to an investment account that offered pro bono management. The overdraft notice came from North Liberty where I had opened the account so I called them. Just spoke to Andy who figured it all out and made the necessary adjustments within 5 minutes. I could not be more satisfied with that kind of service. Also several months ago I got a call from someone at the North Liberty branch who had "noticed" that I now live in California. She advised me to start a relationship with my local branch and she gave me the name and number of the local manager in Menlo Park. I thought that was above and beyond. So I've read the negative reviews and just want to suggest that maybe this branch is now on a positive path. At least my experience has been positive.

I bank with Chase (which doesn’t have any locations in Iowa) so I have been using this bank to get cash and other misc financial needs. The drive through ATM is convenient and the staff has been friendly on the occasions where I have had to go in. If I was going to long term I would consider switching to this bank

so very unhappy with this bank. I've been a customer for 20+ years and really they could care less. Not willing to work with you at all. I would recommend Bank Iowa or Collins Credit Union instead much better service

I was just charged a fee of $19 because I deposited a check from someone who didn't have sufficient funds. I was charged. HOW is this my fault. Usbank will be loosing my business tomorrow. If I could give less than 1 star I would.
