No More (Anonymous Who)12hrs on hold to make a payment...to give them money... absolutely ridiculous and the representative had not a care in the world. Worst customer service I've had in a long time! I'll be looking at switching.

C S1My job requires me to make deposits at various branches. BB&T consistently offers up horrible customer service. Their tellers are some of the rudest in any customer service setting I've encountered. As a veteran of customer service, I understand working with the public is hard, but it's your job. I'm asked from time to time about my personal banking needs. I would never bank where I am made to feel like a nuisance.

Samantha Stewart1Do NOT go to this bank. They have been absolutely horrible. First, my father recently passed and had an account with them. When I walked in with his death certificate and a COURT affidavit, Lisa (I believe was her name) refused to help me. She shrugged and said "sorry there's nothing I can do". After continually explaining to her the situation and how all of the different banks I've been to were able to help with no problem, she then took my information down and said she would contact me the following day after she spoke with her manager. She never called back. That was 6/13. I ended up going to a different branch in Fort Mill that was much more helpful. However to just get a bank balance to give to the court took 24 business hours (3 days). They also never said that they would charge my father's account $20 for that information. 1) the account should be frozen because I filed his death certificate with BB&T on 6/13 with Liza, then again on 6/14 with the Fort Mill branch. 2) I'm literally asking for a bank balance for the court (signed by a judge), I need the amount to not change, and 3) even though there should not be a charge, if the bank has to charge I should be the one paying at the time of the request, and should have been told that there would be a charge. Cut to yesterday 6/27, went back to this branch and Lisa again was there. I have a new affidavit (signed and notarized by the court) for me to close my father's account and to be given the amount in the account to myself and my sisters. No problem at first, but then the amount is different by $18.62. Apparently BB&T never froze the account and they 1) let Netflix charge the account - that should have never gone through, 2) let a refund from insurance come in - again, should have never gone through, and 3) then BB&T itself charged my deceased father $20 for a bank balance - that is disgraceful and also should have never gone through. Lisa then told me that I have to go back to the Probate Court, get a new affidavit and redo this process. They never once suggested to wave the $20 fee, instead suggested I pay for it out of pocket if I didn't want to go to the Probate Court (which you have to set an appointment, and it's a 25-30 minute drive away). I reluctantly agreed, walked to the ATM and got an additional $3 charge because I don't bank with BB&T (and now never will). They took my money, gave me my $1 and change back, and finished closing the account. So BB&T got now $40 from my father and me for an action that should have never been charged. The amount isn't the issue. The issue is, I'm 33 and now dealing with the loss of both parents (mother passed a year 6 months prior) and to be hit with constant road blocks is infuriating. I will be contacting corporate to let them know of exactly what is going on. Also, I refuse to bank with BB&T because of how they have handled this issue.

Melissa Davenport1I have never been so mad at a bank in my life. Had my boyfriend take money to put into my daughters acct while I worked he was told he couldn't deposit money in her acct. I had never heard that u couldn't DEPOSIT CASH into anyone's acct. So I called the branch and the lady that answered the phone was totally rude, she stated that as of Sept 2018 u cant deposit cash unless u r on the acct. When I stated how crazy that was and how I thought that was stupid she hung up on me. I banked at BB&T yrs ago and the messed up my acct then so I have always said bank anywhere else besides BB&T and I still say that but u need to stay away from this Rock Hill Branch and yes I will be calling Corp office.
