I brought in two shotguns, a classic Winchester Model 12 Defender and a kitted-out Mossberg Shockwave with a Streamlight forend, brace, red dot and side saddle. They gave me 400 for both, about 1/4 their value. I got two months behind on payments($120), called them, they said that I was fine and they would make sure to call me before they sold them. Called a few weeks later, they said they had already sold one, I got no call, and then they offered to sell me ONE back for the cost of the pawn reimbursement plus all of the fees I owed. Now I understand I got behind, but I think its shady business not to follow up with people before you sell their stuff. I think they saw an opportunity to sell the Shockwave for a massive profit and they took it. That is scumbag business, and I will NEVER go back there or ever recommend it to anyone else. These positive reviews won my trust, so heed my warning: do NOT do business with Tri City unless you want them to sell it out from under you.

      Response from the owner

Unfortunately, we received a call from you when it was 4 months past due, not two months like you stated. Also, during that call you had admitted you didn’t remember when the last time you touched base with us was. We hadn’t seen or heard from you since January of this year. Unfortunately, we can’t hold onto things indefinitely hoping people come back, and we also don’t call customers to remind them when their stuff is due or when it’s going out for sale. We don’t collect phone numbers or email addresses to be able to contact customers. We give all customers receipts with all the relevant information on it to remind our customers of their due dates. We have done business this way for 35+ years. When you had called, I had checked on the amount of fees that would have been due for that gun and it was cheaper to buy it off our shelf rather than pay the 4 months of fees that were due.

A great place for FFL Transfers and to browse, always fair on pricing in regards to items that I bring in to sell / trade, as well as items they offer in store. As for Team Tri-City Trading Post, they raise the bar very high, no reservations on making this a favorite place to do business with. It is refreshing to see that their customers matter to them, and that goes a long way.

I have had nothing but great experiences with the Tri-City Trading Post. I stop in here and there and the ladies are very friendly and helpful and extremely knowledgeable about most anything they have for sale. I bought a gun from them last year and they notified me as soon as it arrived and the transaction was very easy and quick. They opened the box for me and made sure it was the gun I had ordered and made sure I was happy with my purchase then walked me through the paperwork and I was on my way. Great little shop!

As usual, every time I stop in here I walk out empty handed due to the fact their prices are basically the same for new and the merchandise is less the desirable in condition at that. Found a saw I been looking for that they had the wrong style blade in it as well as the price the dust have fictitiously pull out of thin air, the saw sells new for $449.00 anywhere you can buy it, they had it marked $999.00 with a selling price of $449.00, when asked about it and I pointed out that it retails new for that they said “it was miss labeled and it was suppose to bebe $349.00, even then, as well used as it was, on the used market it would be closer to $200.00, it is a metal chop saw that should have a metal toothed blade in it and it had a fiber blade in it, not only is this incorrect it is dangerous, keep your money and shop else where

The shop is very well run and they always have great prices. That’s always good but what makes this place is the staff. The two ladies are wonderful and very knowledgeable. Every time I’ve come in I’ve been greeted with a smile and “How can I help you today?” 10/10 will be going back again

Great staff, friendly..My preferred FFL dealer. I stop in as often as possible to see what unusual things they have. It's fun to look around and sometimes I find something to buy.

DO NOT do business with this place. The staff is rude and they take advantage of every customer that walks in their door. Even by pawn shop standards they are awful. Their prices are outrageous, they charges outrageous fees for any loans or items sold to them. You won't get even a tenth of the value of whatever item you pawn. And if you use an item as collateral for a loan, they won't even let you know when they've automatically assumed ownership of YOUR property. Beware of this place, you're better off throwing your items in the trash than stepping foot in their "business".
