  They have an ok selection of stuff but expect lowest of the low as far as offers for your items unless it’s a super well known thing. Also if you don’t seem to be blindly believing everything he says he will kick you out. In my opinion if he was really offering a fair price he wouldn’t be so quick to boot a customer out the door. Also I know he will jump in to defend himself but if you read the reviews you will find more like mine than not.

  Mr. Anderson, This is Jim Galloway, one of the owners of Top Dog Pawn. Usually when people see reviews like yours, they are thinking sour grapes. I don't see any specifics to justify statements like "if he was really offering a fair price he wouldn't be so quick to boot a customer out the door" Sounds to me like you did not like the price we offered and you attempted to give us some negative pushback. This is the only reason I would boot a potential customer out the door. If you would like to give me more specifics, I would be happy to discuss with you.   Isaiah did an amazing job looking up my items and giving me the best price he could for them! By far the most high paying, family friendly pawn shop in town!!! Definitely will be back!

  My husband and I wandered in on a whim yesterday. So glad we did! The older gentlemen was an absolute sweetheart! Nice selection! They had quite an interesting array of jewelry and my husband was pleased with the video game selection. Icing on the cake was the generous military discount! Would definitely come back and would absolutely recommend.

  I don’t get why this place has such a low rating. It’s a pawn shop. Jim the owner goes out of his way to work with you, especially if you build good history with them you never have problems if you need help if you can’t pay on time or if you need a little more the what the value of your item is. The people who gave this place a low rating are probably the same people trying to get over on him or can never pay your money you borrowed or got turned down because you’re trying to sell stuff you stole. Top dawg has saved me in pinch tons of times And this is the best pawn shop In Augusta and you’re wasting your time going anywhere else. Period

  This is a great place to do business. The staff here is very courteous and are aware of customers needs during this time during the pandemic. As soon as I approached the entrance, Jennifer and Dewy are waiting to help. I definitely recommend Top Dawg pawn.

  If there is any possible way I could give a business a negative rating I would!! I am a very respectful man and I will not be disrespected by anyone! On this glorious day I decide to pawn some belongings for extra cash. Everything was fine at the beginning, until the old man got mad at me because I wouldn’t let him low ball me on $300.00 sunglasses. Once I denied his $15 dollar offer, he gets pissy and says he no longer want to do business because of my attitude!!! So lost, because I didn’t have an attitude at all, but once he said that I did!!!! I will never go to this pawn shop or his other pawn shop!!!! I recommend my darker skinned people stay away from this place as well!!! *You have been warned*

  Completely unethical business operations. Horrendous customer service. Take everyone's advise and NEVER do business w these ppl. Trust me there are many other pawn shops in the area who will treat their customers well. Hit em in the pockets. And I never due reviews. I'm usually the type to let it roll of my back but w this place something should be done. Not only does he treat his customers (who keep him in business) absolutely atrocious he also treats his employees in a completely demeaning way. Yes this shop does stay open later than most but your better off going else where I've found this place charges the highest prices for their used items and also gives the least on items sold to them. You'll get more for your items at (almost) any other shop.

  This is Jim. In response to Bugaboo's post above. I do not know who Bugaboo is or how to contact her so I cannot reach out to her to determine what her issue with us is. I can only guess and this is total speculation on my part. It appears to me that Bugaboo wanted to sell us something and we offered her less than she wanted so she started to act out and we ask her to leave.
