Annemarie Bretz2The Police CU has deteriorated since switching brands from SFPCU. I've mailed a check every month from the same out-of-state CU for the same or similar dollar amount to PCU for 2-1/2 years. All of the sudden it was held due to the "large amount." Rep Gabby explained that the Fed Reserve policy is to hold checks; if checks do clear sooner -- and they have for 2-1/2 yrs -- she said that's because PCU is performing a courtesy for members. Thanks. She said all of this can be random. No rhyme or reason. She said although checks may have been processed quickly all along, they may now start to be held. Gabby sounded huffy explaining /defending why PCU enforces policy whimsically: "Courteous" for years, then strict Fed Reserve enforcement, as if "courtesy" has become too heavy a lift. "Whimsy" is an unusual feature for a bank. In addition to that nonsense, the newer automated system is much less efficient /more labor-intensive, and the voice thanking you for calling back has a creepy surveillance vibe.
