Opened several accounts recently and had the pleasure of having Nancy H as a customer service rep. She was very thorough and helped me with a few issues I had. Very courteous and knowledgeable, always returned emails quickly. She made you feel comfortable while in her office. I am happy that we chose The Dime Bank.

      Response from the owner

I gave this bank a 1* review, just because I couldn't give it a zero. Telephone customer service was bad. I had to drive to my local branch to resolve issue. Unfortunately my experience with the branch manager was less than desirable. However the other woman who helped me was very nice. I'm Seriously considering reporting matter to a regulator then taking my business somewhere else.

The worst I have ever been treated from a bank. 1 year ago i went to the Hawley branch to deposit a third party check. I was denied even though me and my family have been customers for more than 30 years. So I went up the road to a different branch and they started to help me without a issue. Well the manager came out of her office and actually had the teller reverse the transaction after it was already completed ! (There were no issues with the initial transaction). They were mad that I went to a different location to help me because the first location was not helping with my needs. I then had a conversation with an angry branch manager telling me about how that is unacceptable to ask for help when I was not getting it elsewhere . I then spoke with the Vice President(of retail) who threatened me with calling the police if i did not leave immediately, at this point i was sitting down in then managers office who had initiated the meeting in the first place. The entire time I was speaking calm and with intelligence, never was I rude or aggressive . I was shocked when she mentioned the police . Let’s fast forward to current days. I had a dispute on a transaction online . Well the Vice President (OF RETAIL)somehow saw my dispute and. Closed all 3 of my accounts . 1 checking 1 business and 1 joint. With no explanation. Except that she should have closed my account last year . Now I am a single father with 2 kids and we are starving and no money at all. I have not been able to receive unemployment and my taxes are due to be direct deposited to my closed account. I am in tears everyday when my kids say they are hungry, because i don’t know what to do and I am hungry also . I cannot pay my bills and my lights are about to get shut off. I so upset that I am wiping tears off of my phone right now. I’m not exaggerating anything and I truly did nothing wrong I didn’t even know my accounts were closed until I went into a branch to sign papers about the dispute. So I actually got the funds back ($58) and the next day my accounts were closed and I got a letter I wish I could post. I'm confused and hungry and I only know that I am getting an attorney. (update) i wonder why the owner did not respond to my very detailed 100%accurate post about recent and past events, it seems only the vague posts get attention from them. accounts are sill closed and i have not received my stimulus because it was sent to a closed account.i was able to receive my taxes back but only after she spoke in a way to basically take this post down or i will not receive my taxes, that they would be sent back. i always have proof to back up my words by the way. because it seems i am constantly defending myself even when i am the one dealing with he injustice. this is a case of discrimination for whatever her reasons being. when i call and ask to be called back by someone other than her because i believe she is targeting me, guess what... she always calls me back tells me that i need to stop calling so they can do their job.i am not joking. i have had 4 different supervisors put it in the record that i am not to be called back by her and that i need to speak to someone else, but its always her that calls me back, now im scared to call again because she will intercept the call.i cant make this stuff up.and she told me that if i went to a branch i would be trespassing. but i did nothing wrong. this is completely insane and now shes harassing me. im sure that what she is doing is completely against policy . and i need someone to help me. because i dont know what to do at this point.this whole thing has been traumatizing. i want to say that most of the workers are great, its just the few people with some power give them a bad name , i am part of a large corp. that is currently in the process of moving accounts out to different banks in the area.i have also been a customer at the wayne bank with my company and they have been great. this is a letter that i recieved from the retail vice president.

I love this bank. Good CD rates . Employees know what they are doing. The fraud alert system is excellent. They prevented my account from being wiped out on multiple occasions by skimming devices. The first sign of fraud on my card, I was immediately alerted with a text message and an email.

      Response from the owner
