I've been a member at this bank for years (Weaverville, NC) and went through many different banks to end up here. My experience from everyday checking to buying 3 cars has always been great. It means a lot in my opinion when you find good customer service and someone you can trust with your money.

      Response from the owner

I don’t usually take the time to talk about my bank, but this time I felt it was worth a few moments of my time. I have been with telco for over 5 years and every time I have gone to them with a problem they have been quick to help! Reviews often show the negative but I honestly don’t have anything negative to say about all the staff in Weaverville and specifically Diane Ballard! Thanks for everything!!

      Response from the owner

Thank you Linda for leaving Telco and Diane an awesome review! We appreciate you being a Telco member and letting us know how we are doing.

My wife and I were in the middle of closing on our new house and we ended up having a huge problem with our bank in another state. We had used shared branching at Telco before, so as a last ditch effort, we went to telco to try to resolve our situation. Diane, the branch manager, went out of her way to help us. All of the staff at Telco helped and we were able to complete the transaction for our new home. I will be a member of this credit union for the rest of my life! No matter where life takes me. Thank you Diane! You are my hero!!

      Response from the owner

Hi Daniel, so glad we were able to help you and your wife. Congratulations!

I've always loved Telco until the last couple days. I'm buying a home and need some checks printed(6 Total). They have done this for me before without problem but now that I've went to the Weaverville branch the Teller acted like I was bothering her and rudely said come back tomorrow. I said that was fine and I showed up at 9:30 and the same teller rudely told me they would not be ready until Noon. This is not the experience I'm used to at Telco and I hope for other customers sake they get some happier people working the teller stations.

      Response from the owner

Hi Matt, I'm so sorry we were not able to service you in a more timely manner. Your dissatisfaction in service is being brought to the manager's attention. We sincerely apologize for your unpleasant experience and hope you will give us another chance to do better.

I felt very bad for the girl who was locked in the store with me. She was having an all out freak out cause they illegally locked us in.... me included! I was upset but watching that girl not be able to escape a very uncomfortable situation... she wasnt able. I wasnt able. How is that okay? Its not legal and ill be calling the BB for this poor girl, incase she cant do it herself. Do better.

      Response from the owner

Hi Tara, it is customary for a business to lock the outside doors after business closing hours. We need to lock the door to let people know it is past the hours of starting new transactions, while completing transactions with members who are still being assisted.

Alisha was very helpful and friendly when I showed up with several things I needed assistance with. Reminded me why I switched from a big bank.

      Response from the owner

Hi Gregory, so glad you are satisfied with your member service. Thank you for letting us know how we are doing.

My husband and I have been banking with these wonderful people for about 9 years now. They are the best. From helping us save a runaway dog to giving us the best customer service with a smile. We appreciated as customers and secure with our financial needs. Thanks.

Terrible bank!! Made payments on car loan and decided to pay it off in April early. I got my car title and went on about my business. I routinely check my credit score and noticed it had went down. I checked and saw that my Telco loan had not been updated. I thought maybe it took a month. By the next month my score had again dropped and it was showing the account behind two months!! I called the bank and the manager shuffled me off to someone else because I was upset that my credit score had dropped from nearly 800 to in the 600's because of this account. She said that it was not scheduled to update the credit reporting agencies and I would need to fax them a letter stating they could update which I did July 3rd. It has still not been updated to the credit reporting agencies. Now I am having to dispute this account all because of the incredibly acts of stupid of this bank. Please choose another bank.

Im sure at this point yall will learn not to lock the doors, but in case you dont its 100% illegal to do it with people in the store still. (:

      Response from the owner

Hi Katey, it is customary for a business to lock the outside doors after business closing hours. We need to lock the door to let people know it is past the hours of starting new transactions, while completing transactions with members who are still being assisted.
