TD Bank Reviews

Annika Gilmore5We just moved from Canada to Charleston and wanted to stay with Toronto Dominion Bank so we opened an account at the Mt Pleasant branch. The customer service is outstanding. Ryan made us feel welcome immediately and his colleague Maureen has been equally helpful with our banking needs. I highly recommend the TD branch on Anna Knapp!

John Shilling1Front door locked. I've tried to visit branch twice in recent months. Both times front door was locked with no clear explanation notice. Drive through line didn't work for me the second time because the car in front of me must have been involved in a complicated transaction as I waited 10 minutes before bailing. There's no acceptable reason for this bank's branch office to be closed. My exercise studio has been open since May with no issues. My doctor's office manages to function. A bank branch with tellers standing behind high counters has no excuse for not serving customers properly.

Casey Jenkins1The ATM stole a $20 bill and my debit card when I tried to deposit my tip money from work. It claimed it for security purposes but gave me no other way to resolve the issue unless I contact my bank. I used under 50 bills, as it asks. Nobody was working when I made the deposit, so I am without a means of purchases in case of an emergency. I am considering switching banks altogether at this point. I have never had such a ridiculous instance happen when I simply wanted to make a deposit. It shouldn't be such a hassle.

Mama Llama1This bank has no training on how to process a mortgage. We were refinancing a $725,000 loan and was given a quote and details on the loan BEFORE we decided to move forward and fill out formal loan paperwork. Elcorese gave us the rate, closing costs, terms, and told us that we could elect NOT to escrow our property taxes without any fees. She told us we could pay bi-weekly and set up auto payments that would automatically apply any extra payment towards principal. We went in the following day to formally fill out loan application. BEFORE we stated we confirmed all the details with both Elcorese AND the branch manager Michael. After the paperwork was entered by Elcorese online, the paperwork printed with all different information than what she quoted and promised us. The rate and terms were higher, the closing costs were 6 times higher, there was a $2,000 fee to NOT escrow taxes, and we found out that the TD online system is so archaic it does not allow you to set up bi-monthly payments nor does it automatically apply any extra towards principal. If my loan is $3,000 and I send in $4,000, I would have to call, be on hold for 30 minutes, to make sure my extra $1,000 in the payment is applied towards principal. Otherwise, that extra $1,000 can sit in "unapplied funds" mystery account. The purpose of setting up an automatic payment from my non-TD bank to TD loan is so that you don't have to babysit the account. Who has time to set up auto payment and then have to CALL every month to make sure TD applied it correctly. The entire process was a complete joke. Once the paperwork printed and we noticed that all the information she quoted was significantly different we told her we were NOT authorizing this loan to move forward until she figures out what happened and fixes it. That was on a Thursday. We were out of the country until Sunday. On Monday, we receive an email from TD that they approved our loan AND ran our credit. We told her to CANCEL everything until she gets answers. She went ahead and processed the loan! They are absolutely clueless at this bank. I will NEVER do business with TD again nor would I ever recommend them to anyone.
