TD Bank Reviews

Pixie Ghibs2I've had my account for years with TB Bank. My account switched from a student account to an account that needs a minimum of 100dollars a day in my bank. I wasnt aware that there were two other account types. The lady just assigned this one to me. The maintenance fee is $15 for that. They have two other accounts that have $5 or $4 maintenance fees. Kristine failed to give me this information today when I called requesting more info on my account and what I could do about the $15 fee. I just started a new job, waiting for my first paycheck. the maintenance fee has been screwing me up for a few months now. She hung up on me twice instead of informing me about the other kinds of accounts they offer. Instead she implied I'm stupid for not realizing the maintenance fee happens the same day every month. Its very upsetting when i dont receive the good customer service (I'd imagine) youd want your employees using. Ive never had an issue like this before, im a loyal customer and Kristine makes me question if I should keep yall as my bank. Isnt it her job to help inform me of other services your company offers?

Jason Spencer1Terrible small business banking experience. This bank automatically sets your debit card and account to dip below zero "conveniently" so that you are forced to pay their $35 overdraft fees per transaction. Conveniently, they do not inform you about this when you establish and open a new account. Most bank accounts will simply decline the charge on a card if the charge was to put your account into the negative -- not with TD Bank -- it will allow all charges to go through and will charge you $35 per transaction. I went in on a Tuesday to speak with a banking representative about the issue, they told me they switched my debit card to no longer allow charges to dip the account below zero and they would have a bank manager call me ASAP to discuss reversing the 8 overdraft charges on my account. I did not hear back in 24 hours, so I called back into the local branch and spoke with another banking representative who told me they would have the manager call me back. I did not hear back in 48 hours, so I called back again on Friday and finally reached the banking manager. The banking manager then went on to share that the "switch" that was made on Tuesday, was never actually made because it is not possible to make that switch on a business checking account - so the information that the banking representative gave to me on Tuesday was completely false and inaccurate. He went on to tell me that he could only reverse 4 total of the 8 overdraft fees and would be unwilling to reverse the other 4. So now I am out $140 thanks to TD Bank's lack of customer education about how this debit/charge system works, their inability to change a card to decline when going below zero, and their inability to value a new customer by offering a one-time reversal of all charges due to their lack of education and my lack of understanding of their banking system. I do not recommend opening an account with TD Bank. Their customer service is terrible, their response time to your inquiries is terrible, their lack of education is terrible and their debit card/balance/overdraft policies are terrible. Run to any other bank and do not choose TD Bank.

TheNameNoOneHasButMe5I had the privilege of going into this Bank while I was on vacation. I had a serious problem. The assistant advice president / store manager Stewart H Marsh dealt with me personally. He was the best I could have ever asked for to help me with my situation. He even went above and beyond knowing that we was going to the Biltmore and it was going to be raining and it gave me an umbrella. I was in and out in 10 minutes problem solved and was better off for it. I love TD Bank. And this just proves why because of their amazing customer service.

Travis Queen1Closed my accounts months ago, billpays still being sent out. Personally Covered $200 in nsf fees for the other party. Spoke to td today because yet another check was sent on that closed account and have been directed to a 3rd party. For a company that bills themselves as the world's most convient bank it's laughable. Nothing convienet about td bank, they can't even do their own billpay, limited atms that are frequently down and now this. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

bill McAninch5The TD branch on College Street has given me excellent service. The employees are courteous, friendly, and go out of their way to be helpful. When my husband died, they walked me through the steps necessary to get his pension, helped me apply for credit cards in my own name, and basically showed me how to handle things on my own. I often walk in with my dog, They always welcome her just as warmly and always have a treat or two for her. It is her very favorite place to go in Asheville, which is saying a lot, as this is a very dog-friendly town

Victoria Bounds1Worst bank. Monthly service fees, over draft fees, they have no problem taking 4 or 5 overdraft fees in a day for payments that keep trying to go through. Turned my card and online banking completely off because of “suspected fraud”!!!!! They didn’t even call me And ask if the suspected fraud charges we’re money. Now I can’t use my card my money, and have to Wait until 9 am when they open to talk to someone. If this was an emergency and I needed my money I’d Be screwed! Absolutely ridiculous. Closing my account today. Customer service is very poor.

Obi's Mom1Had a check being held so I called them and gave them all the info to get it cleared. They said they couldn't get it cleared and the gentleman who I spoke to was very rude. I offered to provide more information but it was clear his intention was not to truly help the situation. So, I hung up and called another branch and they had it cleared in less than five minutes. I've had nothing but issues working with this branch and will never use this branch again. Your customer service usually is sub par and your employees seem to have a very rude edge that isn't appreciated. I've been a customer for years and usually only write good reviews.....not this time. Your employees make me want to close my accounts and never use you again.

Rod Branch1TD Bank has consistently disappointed me with their schemes to take money out of my pocket. They're constantly adding new fees and increasing old ones. They also kicked me out of their program for college students which doesn't minimum account balance fees understanding that college students are pretty broke due to my age, despite being able to prove I was enrolled full time. This is both classism and ageism. It's probably to pay for their "extended hours" which I can't even take advantage of because not a single location in this town is open past five. Why am I paying fees to supplement the convenience of other people?
