Summit Community Bank Reviews

Nicole Mine1I’ve been with this bank from when it use to be Susquehanna to mvb and now summit bank. The first transition was smooth and I had zero issues but ever since summit took over it’s been issue after issue. It takes days for things to post to your account. When the switch happened the customer was responsible for all the details of updating everyone about the new bank as if you were starting fresh even though the account numbers never changed just the bank name which caused issues. There are other issues that have occurred. I wouldn’t recommend using this bank at all unless of course you like periodic headaches. The only thing nice I have to say is the staff are friendly, but it doesn’t change how the bank functions in the end.
Response from the ownerNicole, we're sorry that your transition to Summit was a bit bumpy, but we're committed to making things right. Please give us a call at 877-776-9722 and let us know about your account issues and we'll work to get them resolved. Thanks!

Chris McDonald1Service was great until I realized that they had me changing the structure of my business just to amuse themselves. As soon as it wasn't funny anymore they became unresponsive. Denial not based on credit worthiness, income or planning...a lack of "security". Good luck with these guys, I make 17k/month and got nowhere with a 680 credit score. Talk to a venture capitalist/angel investor instead, they'll actually be interested in the viability of your venture; NOT THE UNRELATED LEVERAGE THEY USE TO ENRICH THEMSELVES. Investors, not banks, saved my 9 year old business and a year of planned growth. If the bank approves you the you definitely do not need them! That's the only reason they'd really lend to you! Because you were tricked into using your resources to borrow instead of applying them directly to your goals. If it can be leveraged by a bank you can leverage it yourself for much more money on better terms! Whatever you do, don't play their games or go out of your way for them. Cheers!

Kimberly Miller1When changing accounts several years ago, we were not told of fees that would be charged and then when discovered, the lady in Martinburg was not helpful or sympathetic to the fact that she did not reveal this during our discussion about the change on the account. And then recently we were charged another fee that she did not clearly explain to me after I asked specifically if we would be charged a fee. Overall we just have not been impressed with the customer service especially with us being long time account holders. Switching banks soon.

Bruce Boyd5Great service!! Always such a pleasure to deal with each MVB representative. As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed with a smile and a personal greeting from each person available. They are willing to help you in every way possible. I found this to be true at both Martinsburg locations and the Charlestown location. They make you feel as if you are their only customer. I wish more banks were this way but that is what separates MVB from BB&t and other local banks. Anyone can keep your money and finances but very few places treat you like it's actually your money!! Nothing worse than having to jump through hoops to get what's yours. MVB has really broken the mold!! I'd recommend them to anyone but my enemies. The enemies of send to BB&T
