  Good times don’t come back any more! Astoria Federal Savings for me Used to be the best bank in New York, until they merged. Now you just need to see the reviews to understand.

  After reporting a missing card and waiting the 7 to 10 business days, called in to check on card. The original rep never canceled or requested a new card. I even verified date and time of original call. The new rep told me there was nothing they could do to expedite a new card, that it would be another 7 to 10 wait and that I would be charged for the new card. (due to work, unable to get to one of their locations during banking hours) Then, she refused to answer my concern that the original card had never been canceled. She pretended she couldn't hear me, although I was on a landline... Not a cell phone. Terrible service since the acquisition. Computers down in the branch, website never worked, Long loading times, no care or concern for customers that were with Astoria Bank for over 40 years. Once the card arrives, I will be relocating to another bank. What a shame.

  HORRIBLE BANK, Long Lines, Slow tellers. I never knew you can really dispise a bank this much. Most customers on line are just as disgruntled. I guess they are like me and don’t want to deal with the hassle of taking your money out and opening up elsewhere. No matter what location I go to Ditmars both locations on 30th Avenue they are all bad. Bank really went downhill since they changed the name from Astoria Bank to Sterling. I will eventually open a account with TD.

  I went to the branch at Ditmar's because my branch at 30th Ave and 38th St was closed, Again. I got to the door at 3:45 pm and it was already locked. They were supposed to stay open until 4 pm. I really needed to speak with an officer about my IRA. What a waste of time and traffic. I am really tempted to close my account. Danny W.

  I closed My account after Astoria bank merged with Sterling Bank.Two weeks later I received a check for some interest earned on the closed account. I went to the bank to cash my small check and they told me they cannot cash the check from their bank because I don"t have account with them.

  Astoria federal was a great bank long time ago I think Sterling has improve a little on the service , let’s wait and see , it seems that they r doing better . On a note all the banks in general are not the way they were .

  This is no longer Astoria bank, it's run by something called Sterling. After 30 years banking here I left , this bank is a disgrace on all levels. You would be better off stuffing your mattress with your money

  The lines move extremely slow. It seems as if every single customer is in line withdrawing a million dollars.

  Long waits, short hours, closed some offices. Going to leave them, not happy at all.
