State Employees’ Credit Union Reviews

Christopher Turner5I have been banking with the State Employees' Credit Union for over 30-years and have had interactions with dozens of their branches. I think you will encounter rude people in every business from time to time but I have had nothing but the best experience from this particular branch! The Branch Manager and I go back almost 30-years. The staff, in my experience, has been nothing short of stellar. One thing that I have done that has served me well over time is to quietly and professionally confront employees (regardless of the business) that I felt were treating me poorly. In my experience, people can't or won't change their behavior if they're unaware of it. This can be a learning experience for them, but it's all in your approach.

Pamela Norfleet1Horrible customer service. Tellers apparently cannot be trusted by management to change 5 twenties for 2 fifties. I was in banking and have never heard such ridiculous rules. I will never go back although I have used them for years

Shawanna Sykes5My husband and I have had a great experience with this branch. Our loan officer Patrick was very pleasant to work with. He was responsive and helped us throughout our home loan process. He also filed our taxes this year.

Road-glide Rider2The only reason I am giving a 2 is because the branch manager is good to work with. Everyone else could care less about you. They are rude, short with you, and don't make you a priority even though you have money in their banking institution. I have had loans with the credit union for 10 years now and have always had good experiences besides with this one. If you go there deal directly with the branch manager. Everyone else that works there is not helpful at all.

C.D.W. Carter1They always look at me like I'm some criminal that they have just identified in a lineup. I'm a military veteran, wife and mother with a master's degree, but when I walk in, I can immediately feel like not only am I being judged, but also as if they're preparing for me to rob them. I'm not sure what the "ideal" look is, but how about treating all of your customers the same, regardless of race and appearance. I'm not a "thug". This is the same location I opened my account years ago, but times have certainly changed. I'll go to another branch instead.

Eric Craigo1I like SECU but this location's ATM took a 100 dollar bill from me and they said there is nothing they can do so hopefully this review will help someone in the future

Ariel Wiggins1Do not consider getting a loan with this bank. They have "policies" in place to make it the most inconvenient for clients to make principle payments on their loans. This is my second month where I have not been able to make my principle payment due to "policies". Don't waste your time or money.

DivaCounselor3The only reason I gave this place a three is because the loan officers are great to work with...they are very polite and helpful!!!! However, the tellers at the front are not friendly.

Shirlene Bennett1Customer service is very poor. Most of the time I go across town to avoid interacting with this branch.
