State Employees’ Credit Union Reviews

Kristopher Love1I just moved to the area and started doing business at this location. I have had two occasions ( one with Tonya Johnson and the other I can’t remember the name) where these tellers have been down right nasty to me. I am a retired veteran and have been apart of the NCSECU family since I was a child and never have I been as disrespected as I have here. I don’t know if it was because I was dressed down when I made the visits and they saw me as someone who is under them but that is definitely not how you treat a customer. I was cut off multiple times, given a tone , and eye rolls. Their whole demeanor was as if I was not worthy of their time. If you don’t like you job that’s not my fault, you should quit and find a career where you don’t work with customers!! I sincerely hope this branch refreshes their customer service training!

Steve Minslow1The staff at this branch were always very helpful and polite, however, when it comes to the SECU, I have been having a lot of trouble closing my membership and getting my money back. Each time I message them on the app I get the same response stating that I will have to cancel my membership to receive what is in my account because there must be a minimum of $25 balance. I have requested cancellation and refund, however they continue to push back and provide the same message. At the end of the day, they will not give me my money. Pretty sure that's not an institution you would want to trust with your money. The one star is for the exceptional in-branch service.

Diera Taylor2I expected excellent customer service because of Secu’s reputation but the banker Koren I met with, wasn’t very helpful. I’ve been banking with SECU since I was a child but haven’t actively used my account until now. I had a few questions about my account and different qualifications for loans there. She gave me answers and that was it. She didn’t offer to look into my account for a financial review or provide options to help me meet the financial goals I was inquiring about. It almost be made me uncomfortable to have even come in to ask questions. This visit to the branch wasn’t helpful and I’ll be going to Other branches from here on out.

Alex1I’ve never had a problem at any SECU branch until today. Sylena Simpson was my teller at this branch, in which I brought a check in. She had advised me it would be a 4 day delay because they haven’t deposited a check from that bank for over $1000. I needed the money then and she then gave me no choice but to take it out of my savings account. Then, she had me sign a paper that stated that the 4 day hold was because she was unable to verify and before I signed, I confronted the topic to only receive a nonsense excuse... Very disappointing. Unfortunately I am just chalking it up as laziness. I will be calling the branch manager.

Sylvia Thames5The folks at this branch are friendly and very quick to help. Sometimes the lines are a little long, but each person is given time to conduct their business without feeling rushed. Everyone is eager to help, regardless of what you need. I also appreciate the assistance with income tax. I am comfortable with the competence of the preparers which makes the April 15/17th deadline more bearable.
