  The parts department is horrible. They took down my personal info on a scratch paper for a key I needed ordered. This was over 2 months ago. When I called to retrieve it they said the number they had been calling me at was no good. Yet he couldn't tell me what number they had been calling. Then I got the truth,He told me they didn't have my order and they have been writing things on scratch paper for 20 years and thats worked for them. Well guess what? It doesn't work, I called to tell them this, the manager wasn't too concerned, and it wasn't just my info on that paper, there were others, which means you messed their reorder up too, and have their personal info floating around who knows where.

  I moved to Spearfish about a year ago and went to Spearfish GMC Cadillac to have my 2010 Cadillac DTS serviced. Since then I have returned for regular maintenance, tires and replacement of driver seat heater. The guys in the service department are great. They work me in as quickly as possible and call me so as to keep me informed of what is being done. I appreciate that they call me by name as that makes the service seem more personal. Also the people in the cashier's office and parts department are friendly and willing to spend time with me when I have questions about parts, tires, etc. I also appreciate that they wash my car after every service. I wish I could purchase a card for monthly or yearly car washes. Without a doubt I will continue to use Spearfish GMC Cadillac for all my Cadillac needs.

  Everybody was helpful and John Martin the service Mgr worked on my truck as soon as I brought it to Spearfish GMC. So why then did I give such a poor rating? Cost!!!. A GM turbo runs approxiamtley $1,500.00 plus a $200.00 core charge. Spearfish stuck it to me for $3,076.26, shall we say, taking advantage of a broke down GMC traveler. Let's not forget the core charge, which I am sure they collected. I asked John to take a look at it as I thought it was high and if there was anything he could do for me. Answer, nothing at all.I had my trans flushed and oil lube and filter. Also a airconditioning problem fixed. Total Cost of $5,569.09. I purchased my truck from a GMC dealer and fix anything the moment it is needed. I have a great working relationship and am loyal to my GMC dealer here in Sandpoint Idaho but what woud I advise a fellow traveler and GMC owner that has mechanical problems in Spearfish South Dakota? Try White Queen's City Motor's, a Chevrolet dealer accross the street. I was taken advatage of by a GMC dealer and I would think Corperate would try to make this right. I own a 2004 Sierra 2500HD with a Duramax Diesel, Allison transmission. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on GMC products and to overcharge me for a thousand dollars is just plain foolish. In response to Mr. Jamie Bartow Sales Manager's (Owner)email, the list price of the turbo was $2676, anyone can buy the same part from GM for $1500 and I understood the part came from another dealer and everyone needs to make money but the charge was too high yet I agreed to the cost, what choice did I have living 800 miles away? Also, Mr Bartow saying I was not charged for my aircondition repair shows incompetence on your part, the repair was billed on another invoice and as far as flushing my power steering system, while Randy (Tech) tried to find what was making the noise after my turbo repair and could not, John Martin documented and signed the second invoice stating and I quote, "Found noise coming from the brake booster, flushed brake fluid and it seem to be better but is still present". So you see Mr Bartow I wasn't charge for a power steering flush because one wasn't done!!!! So all you travelers in need of repair miles from home, consider these facts!

  Jerry We are very sorry to hear that you had a unfavorable experience at our dealership. In reviewing your complaint I have found that the part had to be bought from another dealer which increased the cost. List price on the turbo is $2676 and we were charged $400 from the dealer that we purchased it from. If time would have permitted, ordering the part from the factory and waiting for it to arrive the repair could have been completed for less money, but we were told to get the part as soon as we could. You were not charged a core charge and we also did not charge you for the air conditioning repair that was performed or flushing your power steering system. All pricing was disclosed to you upfront and we were given approval to complete the work so you could get back on the road as soon as possible. I am sorry that you are unhappy but I don't know how we could have done anything different and got you on the road in the time frame that we did.   It was my first time in South Dakota and my 3500 Dually Silverado needed an oil change. It had a camper in its bed. We had been cross country over 7000 miles and we're heading back home to Upstate New York State in Clifton Park. We had just been turned away from the Chevy Dealership across the street and the service advisor did not want to help us find a place. He was too busy. We came into the GMC Dealership and were greeted by John Martin, the Service Manager. He asked how our day was going and we said it wasn't good. He told us he wanted to make it better. We told him our pickup with a camper in it needed an oil change. He said we can do that. We have done oil changes on the floor before he said. We will do it at 1:00 and get you on your way. We came back at 1:00 and spoke with Service Advisor, Dave Callaway, who immediately got it started and completed in less than an hour. We love Spearfish GMC. They certainly know how to treat people well.

  I had a fantastic experience at Spearfish GMC. Kristi Arambel was my salesperson and she did a great job of helping me find a unit which worked for me and she made the process really easy. She also knew that I was looking for something for my wife and found a unit which would also work for her. Kristi was very persistent and made the whole experience very nice. The service department is also very experienced. I look forward to using them for the years to come. Spearfish GMC/Cadillac is great.

  Appointment was scheduled 1 week out from when I called. Oil change took 1 hour and they washed my truck when they were done.
