  The people at the Stamford branch of the Sound Federal Credit Union are extremely helpful -- Steve Tedesco, in particular! You can open a savings account with as little as $25, and that opens the doors to accessing all the other services they provide. I just refinanced my used 2016 car and got an excellent rate. My monthly payment to Honda Finance was $304 and went down to $189 when I refinanced with Sound Federal Credit Union. I am a happy customer!!

  I have dealt with them twice. Once three years ago in anticipation of purchasing a car. I did not go through with the purchase, but Sylvia could not have been more helpful, even when I told her I changed my mind. This year I suggested my daughter try them for a car loan. Again Sylvia handled everything. My daughter is a member, has a loan and very happy. Rates are terrific, service is the best I have had at any other bank or Credit union. The SFCU is a hidden secret. If you are a skeptic, find out for your self. Highly recommend them.

  SFCU has the feeling of a small town bank that knows its members. I've been a member for over 35 years and when people I knew retired, I thought it would lose that community feel. That is not the case. They are helpful, have stayed up with the times, the mobile app is great. If any questions, or concerns, they are easy to reach and willing to help. I have moved out of Stamford, but continue with SFCU- you don't have to be local to do business together anymore. All can be handled virtually; and handled well. Highly recommend.

  I had been shopping for a used truck for some time, and when I found one I liked, i knew I’d need some financing. This particular vehicle was at a dealer, out of state from where we are in CT. The dealer was going to charge me 6.9 % and even more , which would really tack on some extra cost. I searched around, had been told credit unions are the way to go. So I searched locally and found Sound Federal credit Union. The process was so easy, the people there are soooo nice, and just helpful. Just like a neighborhood bank actually. The loan agent taught me a lot actually and showed me why they were the best option. Not that I needed convincing. But the brass tacks are this. 60 month loan via dealer financing:$400/month. 60 month financing through Sound Federal: 3.1% $325/month! That’s $75/ month/ thousands in savings. So yeah, I definitely will be telling my friends about my experience.

  the friendliest staff. you never get an automated person, always a human! I have been going to the credit union for 35 years, I cannot imagine going anywhere else. I have gotten loans, credit cards, and more. their percentage rates are so low and I enjoy going there and seeing everyone too! their mobile app is also great and easy to use!

  I am with SFCU over 20 years. Everyone works there are very professional, courteous and kind. Some staff there sometimes even willing to go beyond what they supposed to do to help you (such as Yolanda). Thank you, everyone. I highly recommend SFCU!

  Horrible service. I had scheduled an automatic payment and their system had failed to get the funds out. I even have the confirmation to show that the payment was scheduled. I spoke to Ramon Medina and he completely disregarded my emails and even the confirmation that I got from their website !!! He didn't even want to hear my concern over the phone or believe me when I have all the proof. "Well my system shows me that you didn't pay it so you didn't pay it." Tried to hit me with "If you can get to the bank in 30 minutes and pay this we can take care of this" when I was at work !!! Who does this ????? They reported this as a "missed payment" to the credit bureau when I've been making all the payments on time. They even had the nerve to charge me a late fee when I have all the proof !!! Horrible service. Stay away from this bank at all costs!!!!! Don't waste your time with this shady bank. Get a loan from a bank that actually has good customer service and doesn't ignore their customers concerns. They don't even deserve a star. Horrible !!!!!
