SF Fire Credit Union Reviews

Julie Swan1**do not go here for shared branch banking** This is supposed to be a shared branch credit union but unfortunately they refuse to serve anyone who doesn't have an account directly with them. They put ridiculously low limits on withdrawals and won't allow you to access your money and straight up won't serve you other times. They now have a sign that says they can't support shared branch due to covid staffing issues, but when I went in there were multiple tellers with no customers who spent time telling me they wouldn't help me instead of helping.

High Alien Productions1This bank will do transactions for you without explaining everything to their costumers. The security they offer to your money is pathetic. They will quickly jump to protect themselves and leave you without protection. Your money is safer outside of your house with a big sign that says “ This is not money” while a neon arrow is pointing at big bags with $ symbol printed on them.

Karim1Not a good CU -if it doesn’t support Co-op it’s next to worthless

Paul Vescera5Great Credit Union. I dumped my big monster mega bank for this credit union and I could not have been more happy. They are for their members. Great rates and affordable rates on all their financial products. Their staff is always helpful and friendly. They have free coin star for their members and free shred days where you can bring all the stuff you want to shred. Overall, a great place to do business.

Matthew Gast5Easy parking, and almost everything you could want in a credit union. This branch has a coinstar machine (free for members!) and I've had several documents notarized and received signature guarantees. Staff is completely amazing and goes out of their way to help with everything.

Nalani Ngoon Warde5After years of banking with Wells Fargo and LOATHING the experience (endless charges for 'banking') I finally decided to take the plunge and look for a new bank. PROS Super friendly staff Easy online banking with a mobile app Small local credit union I get calls when anything remotely suspicious happens We get a set amount of ATM withdrawals monthly (some users abused the privilege of unlimited withdrawals, so now users have a fixed number, I never exceed the fixed number of monthly withdrawals) I love SF Fire and have been happy for the few years I have bee banking with them, my only beef is that they are not FDIC insured. They are insured, just not FDIC.

Peter Preciado5These guys Rock! They've single handedly changed my view of banks. They are what banking should be. They've gone way above and beyond my expectations over and over again. I recommend this bank to everyone i know and anyone who'll listen. I've been asked if I get a commission because I so enthusiastically endorse them. Haha! Answer is no. ;) Do yourself a huge favor and take 15 minutes to open an account with them. It may change your life.

S R5I have been with SFFCU for years and swear by their customer service and professionalism. Where else can you get free notary services, telephone service reps evenings and weekends, doggie biscuits (California St. branch) and bowls of candy to sweeten your wait in line? And let's not forget the $10 bonus if you call in and are kept on hold an inordinately long period of time. Your money is also safe with them. I received a phone call some months ago -- before microchips were added -- alerting me that people in another Bay Area city were attempting to commit identity theft using falsified credit cards with my information on them. I was able to advise the local police department (although as far as I know they never followed up on videotaped images of the criminals taken in the store). I am convinced there is no better financial institution in the SF Bay Area than the Fire Credit Union. I am so grateful to have found them.
