SELCO Community Credit Union Reviews

OR Moto1Woman at old mill selco this morning could not have been more rude and disrespectful. Having been a Selco member for a decade, and having had over a dozen loans through them. You think they would be at least a little helpful in setting up some new business accounts. The woman at the counter was short, rude, passive, and spoke down to me. I will not be back again and will be switching all my accounts over to another credit union.

josu1I stopped into their Scalehouse Loop branch after using their ATM and the gentlemen manning the counter wouldn't make change for me (I needed my $20 to be turned into singles). They asked me if I had an account and told me to take a hike when I told them no. Its ridiculous, you pay a $2 plus fee to get cash out and then they can't make change for you. So much for being a "community" first bank. I had to drive over to US Bank, where I don't have an account either and they were happy to do it. A stupid corporate policy left a bad taste in my mouth. I would suggest avoiding this place if they're going to have frivolous policies like this. Response from the owner 16 hours ago Hello and thanks for writing. I am very sorry for the frustration this caused. Our policy exists for two reasons. The first is that, as a credit union, our services are reserved for our members. (Much like how you need to be a member of Costco to shop there.) The second is that we have a policy to only open the cash drawer for a transaction tied to an account. This is for security reasons. Internally, we are aware that this policy can cause an unnecessary headache for people like yourself. I'll be passing your comments along to management for when we can revisit this policy to see if we can accommodate reasonable exceptions. My Reponse- I've paid Selco over $4,000 in interest for a car loan I had back in 08'. Just because I'm not a current account holder (member) doesn't mean I haven't been a member before, which should be respected. And I'd probably imagine I was way more profitable for your bank, than someone who has a checking account. The cashier never thought to ask if I was ever a member or have I contributed to your bottom line in the past. Secondly, if you want to assume everyone who walks in the door is out to steal money and hide behind you stupid policy "for security reasons" then fine. It proves your ignorance and I will never have anything to do with you bank again. Good luck and enjoy your 1 star review.

Luke Fernandez5My experience with the Selco on Scalehouse Loop is nothing short of incredible; super polite employees throughout the building all kept me feeling welcome and give the place a super professional, yet friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Kathy had been super helpful, informative, and polite throughout the process of opening the account and kept things very easy for me, even after explaining my income being from self employment. I look forward to the future, based on how this first day has gone, and couldn't have been happier opening an account with them. Thank you, Selco, for turning a potentially stressful event to something enjoyable and pleasant.

Kyle Drost5I had an excellent experience getting a loan with Selco. My loan officer Laura Accomazzo was very attentive to all of my needs and when a small problem did arise she was on it right away! I would highly recommend Laura Accomazzo at Selco C.U. to anyone looking for a loan at a great rate from a reputable credit union.
Response from the ownerThanks for the kind words, Kyle! I'll make sure Laura hears about your shout out.

Rhino Fabrication (Bend Oregon)5I have just had the most incredible experience at Selco in Bend and wanted to share my experience. I had the pleasure to interact with Muranda in the loan department regarding an automobile loan. Muranda was professional, gracious and really made the whole journey fun and easy. If you are looking for professional assistance in a person who really cares I suggest you stop in and introduce yourself. Congratulations to Selco for having Muranda on your team. Tim / Bend, Oregon
Response from the ownerThanks for the review! We'll be sure to pass along your shout-out to Muranda.

Alex Pfeiffer1We drove over 2 hours. Didn't know we had to sign in on a sheet (in order to see it you'd have to make a u-turn to the right). While we waited in line several others sign the sheet until we were notified to sign it. All I needed was to be added to my wife's account. Later a lady apologized for the wait so far and without even looking at the sheet for who was next she assisted two others who came in later after us EVEN after I told her our situation. At this exact moment Amanda is helping us. She's nice. Can't complain about her. But after this we'll be looking for another CU.

Mona Delfino5I've been with Selco for 20 years and I'm extremely happy with them. They have always been there for me and keep me posted if something doesn't seem right with my account. Hats off to you Selco! I just wish you would open up a branch in Portland!
Response from the ownerThanks so much for the kind words, Mona! Actually, we have 2 branches in Portland: one in the northwest part of town () and one inside the VA hospital just south of downtown. Here's where you can find them -- 2465 NW Thurman, Portland, OR 97210 and 3710 SW US Veterans Hospital Rd, Portland, OR 97239 (inside the VA Medical Center, Building 101)

Joe Rose3Inaccurate representation of open hours. It says open at 9 am online. I was told I can't do banking at the drive thru, I'd have to come insidewhen they open at 9:30. I really wanted to get a new account with them, but now I'm on the fence. Update 01/20/2021 not recommend

Lane McKinney1Impossible to ever get a hold of anybody on the phone. I’ll sit on hold for 30 min and then they cancel my call. Has happened so many times to me including today. Not impressed.
