      When going in for a coin order, there is no need for huffing and puffing. Next time would be nice to let me know you have to get more change to do my order. Just not saying anything and letting me stand there is not polite. I took it upon myself to have a seat due to extended waiting on clerk. How rude. I wish there was another bank I could go to for my job errands.

      If your savings balance falls below a certain level, and it goes without deposit or withdrawal for a certain period of time, then this institution will charge a dormant account fee until they zero it out. Got to watch your account balance and activity to protect your own money here. In the old days, your savings account was always safe. Under their conditions, not so here. Watch out. I do not recommend this institution. Use only if your account is well funded and used, always. ******UPDATE October 15, 2021******* A representative of Red River Federal Credit Union has replied since this review was first published. The representative states, "All financial institutions by law must work dormant accounts accordingly." This is not true. To charge a dormant account fee is at the discretion of the institution. They do not "have" to charge a dormant account fee. This fact is indicated by the National Credit Union Association statement, under their legal opinions, titled "08-1030 / November 2008, Permissibly of Closing Inactive Accounts." For this reason, and for several other references available, the response from the owner should be disregarded as untrue. In the instance I used, the owner of the account did not receive a phone call, nor a letter stating that their dormant account was receiving dormant account fees. Their contact information was current and correct.

      All financial institutions by law must work dormant accounts accordingly. Not only RRCU. If member accounts have the correct contact information we do all we can to reach out to those members to make them aware that their account is in dormant status.

      First and only banking I have ever dealt with. I have been with them for 38 years, SO long they had to start my checks over. I need them to come up with a way to LOCK and UNLOCK my cards. I'm about ready to leave to another bank for this feature.

      Terrible customer service. I didn’t feel the least bit valued. The representative never cracked a smile. It seemed to me like she was annoyed at the fact that I was even there. Step it up, Jesus y’all.

      My money always seems to mysteriously leave my account , takes 3-4 business days for a pending transaction to fall off , they never want to give loans or anything to help build credit. They only upside to this bank is that I get paid 1 day early ! Been banking with them over 6years now and they are def not benefiting me.

      I have been with RRFCU for 24 years and absolutely would not change. If I had any questions or needed assistance, they have always been there for me and quickly absolved any situation. I have and would highly recommend Red River Federal Credit Union for satisfactory service and banking. I love my Credit Union !

      My spouse and I went into this branch to open a checking account. The second we went in and sat down at member services, we were informed they were closing in one minute and were told to go to The Center Mall. I have worked in customer service for many years and have always helped any customer that walks through the doors during business hours - Even if it's one minute before closing. To make things worse, when we got to The Center Mall, there were only two tellers and the one we went to did not know how to open a new checking account! What? We had to wait for :15 minutes in the other teller line to be helped. If I did not have a loan with this institution, I would have opted to find another financial institution that treats their customers as an asset and not an inconvenience if they show up one minute before closing.

      We had one loan for almost 3 years, and one loan for a year and a half. Never a late payment on the 3 year, and paid 12 months in advance on the year and a half. RRFCU is so incompetent that you can't make a year of payments at one time. If you pay (and have them stamp each month's ticket, so there is no way there should have been any confusion) 13 months worth of payments, they will send you letters saying to make a payment to "avoid additional interest" and act like you're stupid when you call and complain about their mess up. Then they will hit you with enough interest that you'll pay 4 payments that $0 goes towards the principal. Do yourself a favor and go to a mob boss for a loan before you consider dealing with these clowns. EDIT: The situation has already been resolved. We dropped you like a bad habit. RRFCU is the WORST bank I have ever had a loan with. It's not that complicated to calculate the interest the same as if we'd made 13 payments in 13 months. That's why we now have GM Financial at 0% interest on a newer better car, and another bank with a lower interest rate on the other vehicle. We're probably going to find somewhere to move our savings account that will actually send us statements, and let us know what kind of interest rate we actually have.

When a loan is processed it uses simple interest, which means that interest can not be prepaid, even though payments can.
