  This is without a doubt the worst bank/credit union I have ever dealt with. This week they changed their hours with no notice. I showed up at 3.30 pm to conduct business and they are closed. At 3.30 on a payday. I was there the previous Friday, no notice whatsoever. The incompetence will now cost me time and money. How hard is it to post a sign ahead of time that the hours are changing? What is your management doing to your staff that you can't keep the credit union open during normal banking hours? I invite some from them to contact me. Not to mention when I got my car loan through them, they had a typo in their system which caused them to change the loan to an "unsecured loan" with an interest rate of over 22% (originally around 2%). They told me just to pay my normal about until it was figured out. Then they dinged my credit score for a missed payment. Seriously the auto loan rates may be good, but this bank has cost me more time and money than the low rate is worth. As a credit union they are taking on a pretty serious role in society, and they are failing hard to the detriment of their customers. Sadly this is the closest bank to my home, but as soon as my loan is paid off I am closing the account, and it can't come soon enough. They shouldn't be allowed to stay in business.

  As a gesture good faith I'm gonna update this but I will NOT be giving any more than 3 stars and I should just leave 2. My issue was FINALLY resolved regarding my contact info. WHATEVER you do DO NOT change your phone number and then call in to get it changed. They finally updated mine but it wasn't as easy as it should have been. I still at this point have no desire to call into Penfed for any reason. How I feel has NOT changed.

  No customer service whatsoever. I'm a patient person so I waited 30 minutes to eventually walk away and take my business somewhere else. But what I don't tolerate is when you have 2 customer service reps just staring at the group of people waiting for membership services. No, we will be with you. No, thank you folks for your patience. Just no acknowledgement whatsoever or managing expectations. Then for some reason, they were done with the prior members, it had been about 10 minutes and they didn't come for the next group. Not efficient at all. So rude.

  It's a good bank if you are looking to just save. However it doesn't make day to day usage easy. And now it is much worse with covid. The lobby is closed and the drive through only has one line for service. This is absolutely unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a credit union for day to day usage. The only plus is they have 2 ATMs that aren't busy, so its not going to be too difficult to start emptying my account to move to a new credit union..

  WORST bank branch ever! They close for no reason at all during normal business hours with no signs posted explaining why. Also, they won’t provide the direct phone number to the Woodbridge location so I can call to make sure they’re open before driving all the way tf up there. When I call the 800 number they can’t tell me anything. Not sure about other branches but this is just my experience with this branch.

  This is a federal credit union that is united but you can't do business with your other credit union accounts (such as safe federal credit union) unless you have a account with them directly. Not only is that greedy but a poor business model. I will never bank with you and I will make sure no one I know does either. Oh and thanks for the 15 minute wait for nothing too btw.

  Don’t waste your time at this branch. Cheryl the Assistant Manager is horrible and service is too slow. Literally, watch the employee’s walk around without providing service. Just talking amongst themselves!!

  Lobby is closed and have to wait over an hour to go through the drive through. As others mentioned, closing at 330 on a Friday is brutal.

  The woman I spoke with took the time to clearly explain the auto loan and checking account I inquired about. Every detail and option covered. She was kind, courteous and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend PenFed. I have a car loan from there with an excellent interest rate as well as a savings and checking. Beyond satisfied. Highly recommend.

  PenFed Credit Union is a fantastic company. They helped me with auto refinance and credit card. My credit has increased due to the willing to work with me during very difficult medical situations. But a I hold a good credit rating and their willingness to continue to help me with financial projects. I highly recommend this company.
