I am definitely closing my account with this bank! They are horrible! Since the take over it's been problem after problem! Been with Leyden for at least 20 years or more and they let a charge go through on my account, which was fraudulent!!!! Now they won't even cash my check and I am most definitely not putting it in my account. This is a joke!!!! I do not recommend banking with this institution. I am a manager at Walgreens and this is the worst customer service ever! I resolve customers problems on a daily basis and we never treat our customers this way ever! So done with this bank!!!!! By the way just look at how may customer complaints they have! It's ridiculous!!!!!

      Response from the owner

This used to feel like a local /family oriented, community credit union -Until Partnership took over. Service has declined, and the fees have increased. After many years w/ LCU, I have now decided to take my money and run. Account closed. *****Besides my personal account, I have been to Partnership several times recently and noticed a decline in service. The fees to my personal account is why I closed that specific account. I was NEVER told they would return the fees to me if I kept my account open.****

      Response from the owner

Mr. Turocy, We are sorry to hear you had an unpleasant experience. We are assuming that this is in regards to your account becoming dormant. I believe our Member Services Representative stated that your membership has been inactive (dormant) for 2 years and, as noted in our account disclosures, PFCU charges a $25 monthly fee to accounts that have not had activity for a period of 2 years. Our representative also explained that in keeping the account opened, we would return all fees to your account. We apologize if there was any miscommunication during the dialogue. We would be happy to discuss this matter further with you. Please call us at 847.697.3281 and ask for Betty. She would be happy to assist you in returning your fees and reopening your membership as well as how to avoid dormancy in the future. Thank you.

Pam Bee is the Accounts Support Specialist at Leyden. Can’t even begin to describe how helpful she has been to me trying to juggle accounts and passwords. Her kindness, patience, understanding and knowledge of the system is incredible. She definitely represents the best for Leyden, a super nice person to talk to and to have on your Leyden team. Kudos and Confetti Pam

You are like family here! They look out for YOUR best interest. One day I tried to get a car and the car dealer wanted to charge a lot of interest. I told this to LEYDEN and they (based on my credit) charged me much less!! They CARE about your financial well-being. They have many benefits. The employees are not robots they are real people who really care about each and everyone of their customers. I have been here for a very long time and have witnessed their professional and caring demeanor. This starts with LEADERSHIP! The LEADERS are AWESOME and they CARE JUST AS HARD! I absolutely LOVE THIS BANK...and YOU WILL TOO!

I have experienced horrible customer service. I am not a member of Leyden Credit Union but this credit Union is in the area where I reside. I went into Leyden Credit Union to obtain a personal loan, I began my initial loan application with Natasha Elery, first impression very friendly explained products and services to me and I was very happy. I went ahead and applied for the loan and she of course requested more documentation from me to move forward with the loan. I provided them to her immediately. There was a credit concern on my part and Natasha requested a letter directly from transunion, the Credit bureau they pulled. I was having challenges obtaining it but within the same hour I was able to send over a letter from Transunion’s partner which gave her proof of her request. Natasha stated that I would still need to have a letter directly from Transunion; fine! I called transunion directly and requested they mail me one. On 1/13/2020 I came into the branch with this letter but Natasha wasn’t in, fine I’ll wait. Tuesday 1/14/2020 Natasha returned back to work only to tell me that her manager wasn’t in to review my application. I turned in my loan documents a week ago, your company has requested several other documents from me which lead me to think you have or was processing my application contingent upon receiving a letter from Transunion. 1/15/2020 I followed up again with Natasha and she told me Her manager hasn’t yet reviewed the application and as soon as she does she will give me a call immediately. At 11:49am I received this email “Good Morning Robert,Thank you for your recent application. Your loan request was carefully considered, and we regret that we are unable to approve your application at this time because we are unable to your employment. Sorry!” You work in banking... please proofread before you hit the send button on what supposed to be a professional email. Nevertheless they are unable to verify my employment and I am sitting at work it’s 6 employees in my office We never received a phone call from anyone at Leyden Credit Union oh and I’m the operations Manager I do all employment verification for my office... so I sent in 2 years of tax returns and requested to speak directly to the manager because I do believe my place of employment is also listed on my Credit report. Natasha sent me another number for her manager; I called and just got a returned call at 3:14pm and my initial call was a little after noon. I was told I have limited credit, we can’t verify your employment and also with your transunion error we can’t lend to you. Funny, I have a lot of credit... good credit... several accounts, positive accounts. But ok Ms Liz. I’m not mad nor bitter I’m just informing your potential members that if you want good customer service, communication, and a fair approval this isn’t the credit Union you want to go to. Natasha sounds irritated and annoyed every-time you call her, and Liz has a I don’t give a f$&$ attitude. I would Love it if someone higher than both of them call me. Professionalism is key to me, if you don’t have it customer support shouldn’t be your field of work. Horrible experience and a complete waste of a week. Thanks for nothing Leyden Credit Union

They do not accept an up to date utility bill with this months billing period, my name and address (along side a drivers license and pay check with the same address) as a legitimate proof of address. It has to have been mailed to your address physically to be valid to them. Pretty behind the times. Even the DMV does that. Adding on: Incredibly condescending bank. They say they want to make it easy, but I think an online bill that matches your drivers license and pay stub is pretty secure. Definitely not making it THAT easy. If the DMV can do it a bank should certainly be able to, too.

This is my second time coming here. I thought to myself maybe if I give LCU a second chance it might be different. The front desk girl is super nice. My husband and I recently got married and we are trying to have one bank account, he really likes LCU so we compromised and decided to stay with them. Today, my husband tried adding me to his account so we both can manage our money, and guess what- the representative denied me. Why? Because she said I needed a piece of mail that matches my ID. I tried explaining that I don’t receive mail I only get all my bills through online. Apparently that’s not enough. I pulled up my utilities bill that had my full name AND address, I even went a step further and showed her my ID. She still said no. It’s 2017, people rarely receive mail. LCU really needs to update their system and allow their customers to show online statements. They get our money but when you want to even touch your own money they make you jump through all these obstacles. Thanks LCU. Never recommending this credit union.

When I first signed up with Natasha she told me I could use any credit union to deposit and withdraw money. No you can't do that I had to go there to deposit money and I live a good 45mins to an hour away! And they kept asking me why it would take that long to drive their and when they finally beileve me about my drive that's when they decided to corporate with me and send me papers via email!! I shouldn't have gone threw these rediculious accusations and hoops just to get my money!! Not just that u need to make sure that the accounts put in ur requests correctly because Maria clearly doesn't know how to enter information correctly! I'm so fed up with this bank. I hate it and I'm stuck with them for 3 more years because I have a loan threw them. NEVER AGAIN! They don't care about u all they care about is getting paid!

I went to Leyden Credit Union and visited a representative named Natasha Elery. I want to say that this place is a huge waste of time. I am very disappointed with the delays. Getting in touch regarding results is a big hassle. They wasted the time of my accountant and I looking for different information. After going back and forth, they finally received the information. I had to wait for the results. It was an inconvenience as we are waiting the results and I needed to reach out to Natasha to get confirmations. She asked for random information and reasons and questions, and then delayed getting back to me. Do not go there , do not waste your time.
